I take the view that some issues are important enough to justify endeavouring to reach as many people as possible, by any means possible.
And this way, the discussion is perhaps being had by youths directly affected, rather than people talking about art on a forum.
To call the singer a cunt is simply moronic.
I am further of the view that to suggest that he should have addressed the issue of knife crime further is wrong. It risks coming across as preachy.
Those criticising - what do you do? If youโre actively involved in trying to resolve such issues, I take off my hat to you. If you do nothing but criticise the efforts of others from a keyboard, well perhaps the criticism is ill founded.

30 seconds of googling it looks like Aswad headed things in 1981.

I canโt fathom why you would like the artist less. As I said above I can only assume he was trying to promote discussion about knife crime. Perhaps particularly amongst people more affected by it; teenage kids. What is not to be admired?

Wouldnโt that mean that respect for the artist shouldnโt be diminished? If you agree with the point heโs trying to make, but you arenโt impressed with only the execution?
Genuine question - what about the execution do you not like? Heโs got the piece on the main stage, headline act, being watched by millions on tv. Getting the message to many many more people than had he painted a piece there making the same point. Genuinely Iโm interested to understand what bothers people about this work.

Unfortunately a lot of knife crime is gang related as we all know. If your enemy carryโs a knife, youโll carry a knife. You have little other choice. Exactly the same principle that countries take on their enemies

I thought police stations already have this in place? And anyway it wont help. Knives don't kill people, people kill people. You need to tackle the underlying problems, of which there are many. Seems to have helped in Glasgow.
