Pleased to hear it. Though I had little doubt as all my dealings with James have been first rate.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by Inknart on Jul 11, 2019 13:53:57 GMT 1, I'm sorry, but after paying 16kGBP for "Perfect Condition" LN this is NOT acceptable.
This print has been significantly damaged and repaired, and doesn't even measure correctly and appears to be cropped at some point.
I can't even begin to express my disappointment and now frustration on the biggest purchase of my life.
I'm seriously gutted right now and know I won't even get the proper care or response.

Long term there will be a decent premium for B prints that are 'minttttttt'
I think 16k for a 'mint' LN is fair, but not for that dudd !

I agree with what you say - apart from that in the future I think it will be the opposite regarding a decent premium for mint prints, sort of like the Warhol's.
No one cares if a Warhol image has a couple dings in it anymore.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by Inknart on Jul 11, 2019 15:40:55 GMT 1, Does anyone have any idea of what a LN with this type of damage would be worth?
I looked for 5 months and this is pretty bad compared to many i saw between 12.5-13k. Most in that range only had light matte burn.
I would be willing to take a partial refund possibly, but it would need to be market.
PFG had told me 12k just now for one in this condition, and has been literally the most stand up honest person through this entire process with the prints he is framing for me. He is 100% transparent and I cannot say enough kind words about him. I'd highly recommend him to anyone for any framing purposes and picked him because i've loved seeing his banksy pieces framed over the years and knew I could trust him.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by labbit74 on Jul 11, 2019 16:21:26 GMT 1, I had a bad experience with this gallery. Prescription Art has no customer service. I received a print damaged while shipping. After complaining and sending him pictures James did nothing. Only he could complain to the shipping carrier as he was the sender. No reply on my emails. PayPal solved this problem for me. But I wasted a lot of time.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by Graham H on Jul 11, 2019 16:32:30 GMT 1, I just dont understand if offered one direct from PC why it would even be a consideration to buy elsewhere.. irrespective of ' my word is my bond '
Not only for the added peace of mind of the provenance, but surely if they say its mint, it would be..( or if not, im damn sure they would sort it out as they have to )
Im all for integrity as its paramount, especially at the amounts of money we are talking about, but, lets be honest, galleries have no qualms in ' doing the right thing ' if they had a better offer they would take it and move the original buyer to the side with some form of reason .. just to pacify... ive had many experiences of this.. so can only see it as i call it
Just as a reference, i bought something from Prescription a couple of years back and had no issues whatsover..im just questioning the rationale of taking a gallery over PC

I don't like skewing someones business or backing out of a deal as long as I am getting what I paid for. He offered me a refund , but said it could take some time, so clearly now a case of counting your chickens before they hatch scenario where i'll have to wait months to be refunded. It wasn't a big deal to me to pay 1000 more for something that should have been the same. He also gave me the option to pay over a month in 3 installments, and I had some time while waiting for PFG to create the matching closed ended frames.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by concrete jungle on Jul 11, 2019 17:13:59 GMT 1, My thoughts are you'd be better taking the issue straight to James rather than on this forum. Whilst I appreciate there is a place for name and shame, I'd imagine any bonafide business would amicably try and sort this for you. I worked in a dealership for some time and in general if clients weren't happy a full refund was offered - assuming the piece was returned in the same condition it was sent. However I do agree that the description of mint may be a little lame based on your images - but as others have pointed out there are few truly mint Banksys these days - combination of age and the often original poor handling and framing. In summary Id give him a call and a chance to make amends prior to casting full judgement - it won't be in his interest to have an unsatisfied customer IMO......

I think it's important to document this process for future customers.
Right now , I still am waiting on how he wants it sent back and will have to now wait for an unknown period of time for a refund as he doesn't have the funds.
So now I have a frame waiting for a print that was not as described that has to be returned at which point i'll have to start my search over again and be out 20 Thousand Dollars. To say i'm not happy is an understatement at this current period of time.
Maybe others have capital to sit around and wait for 20k USD, I personally hold money in an account until the buyer of a piece i sell receives it and is satisfied. I think that is common courtesy to the consumer.
I'm sure you wouldn't tell a customer , we'll take the return, but hey not sure when we can get your money back because we already spent it.

Personally i'd be taking the print back in person so the gallery can't accuse the courier or delivery agent you use to send it back of damaging the print further

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by Inknart on Jul 11, 2019 19:16:58 GMT 1, Have you actually asked for a refund? This sounds like deception, to describe something as mint and then give you this. I would be straight to his door, i wouldn't accept it at all. I would take no sh*% for this kind of money. I always see this as theft. Take the bull by the horns and sort it out, take no Sh** is my advice. I'm in the US... He is working with me. I'll provide an update once resolved. I've heard James is a good guy, so hopefully just ends up being a misunderstanding. He will pick it up directly from framer it was shipped to.

I'll provide an update once resolved. I've heard James is a good guy, so hopefully just ends up being a misunderstanding. He will pick it up directly from framer it was shipped to.ย meantime weโll settle for crucifixion.

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by concrete jungle on Jul 11, 2019 21:01:21 GMT 1, My thoughts are you'd be better taking the issue straight to James rather than on this forum. When it is fixed I will report back. I'd agree with your last point - any art dealer selling high value items should have the funds to make a refund if circumstances require it. Normal practise would be a refund immediately following receipt and inspection of the item. Hope this is all a misunderstanding and you get sorted promptly....

Prescription Art Not Responsive , by Prescription Art on Jul 11, 2019 22:27:10 GMT 1, Iโm glad that everyone else can see how ruined this print is from some extremely close up photos of the back of the print. I hadnโt noticed any blemishes at all on the front... but hey these things happen. I offered a partial refund, which was refused, so i offered a full refund. Whatโs the problem exactly? I havenโt been able to see the issues for myself yet as i donโt have the print back, but honestly i am very surprised that this has come up as i looked over the front and saw nothing wrong. If any of you experts slagging me off feel you can do a better job then me then feel free to do so. The print was only delivered to the framer today. Personally i feel itโs a bit soon to discuss in public but whatever. Obviously the purchaser will be refunded.
