PARRA //// FRIDAY need help putting this up on the wall..., by kapusta on Jul 16, 2019 16:52:00 GMT 1, Thanks for making this thread. I'm also puzzled how to hang this one, so it's just been sitting in the box waiting...
Thought about contacting Case Studyo for recommendations, but hopefully someone here can help.

PARRA //// FRIDAY need help putting this up on the wall..., by DB on Jul 24, 2019 10:10:06 GMT 1, It may not work as I don't know what the back looks like...
You could cut a small block of wood and fix it to the wall, then hang the Parra on that?

PARRA //// FRIDAY need help putting this up on the wall..., by sakesake on Jul 24, 2019 16:50:08 GMT 1, It may not work as I don't know what the back looks like... You could cut a small block of wood and fix it to the wall, then hang the Parra on that? That would work. You could even add a little stopper (tiny lip) to the wood block to prevent it from falling. Mine is sitting on a screw on which I added tape to prevent scratches. Def not ideal but it's on a brick wall and I used the screw that was already there. I'll try to find a photo.

PARRA //// FRIDAY need help putting this up on the wall..., by purpleandred on Jul 24, 2019 17:45:03 GMT 1, This is up there with one of the dumbest threads so far... can you just post a pic of the back of the thing so people can stop guessing? There are probably a number of easy, secure and inexpensive solutions.

PARRA //// FRIDAY need help putting this up on the wall..., by met on Jul 29, 2019 5:11:05 GMT 1,
Are you able to take a picture of the back of the piece? It might make it easier to understand the challenge
[...] I will take some shots tonight... [...]
What does the back look like / is there a void or is it solid board ?
I assumed it was two hanging holes in the top two corners?
Didnโt have time to take photos Will do tonight
It may not work as I don't know what the back looks like... You could cut a small block of wood and fix it to the wall, then hang the Parra on that?

This thread has potential as a case study on public appeals for assistance:
1. We start with the common scenario of somebody making an online request for advice (tips on suitable ways of hanging a particular artwork).
2. However, pretty obvious key information has been left out (a detailed description or photo of the back of the piece) โ information that will allow others to give bespoke advice rather than having to resort to guesswork.
3. The omission is brought to the supplicant's attention by various forum members over the course of eight days. Those members are basically saying, "Help us to help you. At the moment, we're shooting in the dark because you haven't bothered to turn the lights on."
4. A natural response would be for the supplicant to proffer a quick mea culpa and remedy their oversight. Yet, in this instance, they choose instead to focus on the fact they feel slighted by a critical comment levelled at their own inaction. It leads them to react with passive-aggression.
Now, query whether being defensive is the best way of handling the situation.
Granted, this may achieve certain things, like giving people the impression that the author has a thin skin. But does it generate goodwill? In other words, is it an effective approach when one is seeking help and guidance from strangers?
