Whilst your correct it was passed in, it did actually sell afterwards (for more than a quarter btw) so not quite as dark a picture as you paint and Bonhams has never been a great place for good banksy results
Iโd humbly suggest Sothebyโs will be a much better test bed for this piece, although it does feel a little soon after that last result.

It looks amazing and there is a little write up on an electronic display next to the display cabinet. There is also a visitors book there so you can leave a comment. For anyone who wants to go, it is open from 7am until 6.30pm and until 5.30 on a Sunday.

Absolutely no axe to grind with with Bonhams, factually, Iโm sure itโs accepted banksys donโt do that well there.
Totally valid critique that this piece isnโt easy to display, but then again this by its nature it is quite different...

I doubt the GWB would have got over 1mil at bonhams... completely different crowd. I think there hook sale will look like a bargain after sotheby's. |

It will be interesting to see I hope it does well for the sellers sake, but it was a massive failure last time round, especially with all the lofty predictions of it selling for over ยฃ200k and the auctioneer painfully pulling bids from the chandeliers and finally passing it after what seemed an agonizingly long time. Hopefully all can be redeemed and we can point the finger at Bonhams and firmly believe that we buy Banksy from Bonhams and not sell through them. |

After the shredded Girl With Balloon you think it would be a room auction. Room auctions always get stronger prices. Having said that i would say they will advertise this well and book clients phones will be hoping off the wall that week

Like the best banksys it works on more than one level, particularly with the edition of the stencils/cardboard box.

Itโs a very strong piece but I think people here base their opinions of art on resale values.
