Furthermore, the signature isn’t just ‘wobbly’, it’s his old signature which he’d stopped using for this print. There is a notable lack of negative space around the printed imagery. The seller doesn’t provide any dimensions of the print, but one can be sure they won’t match the original anyway. The seller is a shìtehawk, everything single item he/she is selling is clearly fake.
Fake isn't quite a harsh enough term for what it is

he is clearly fishing and will happily take someone's money

I’ve bought a high value signed piece on there but did plenty of due diligence on the seller and paid on collection. I’ve sold an unsigned on there as well and didn’t have any problem. eBay is a minefield though, to put it into perspective only about 10-20 adverts out of 100,000 are being sold with pest control COAs and most of those are heavily over priced, the vast majority of works attributed to Banksy are fakes. Once every so often a bargain comes up and as long as you’re diligent there is no issue in principle buying through eBay. In fact it provides an extra layer of recourse for the buyer if things go wrong. |
