Robert Proch's abstract, colourful figurative work has already gained considerable traction in both his native Poland and central Europe. Now The Outsiders brings the 25 year-old to Newcastle upon Tyne for his first ever UK solo exhibition. Proch's style is inspired by state-of-the-art animation as much as classic caricature, and impressionism as much as modernist graffiti. But rather than being 'gritty' or downbeat Robert's work is dynamic, arresting and often strangely encouraging: he presents an augmented emotional reality that remains pleasing to identify with.
Proch's huge outdoor frescos stop traffic wherever they appear, but are equally suited to a gallery interior. The paintings are made with acrylics on canvas and range from 30cm by 30cm square to 100cm by 100cm, and are available from only ยฃ375.
Also a successful animator, Proch's grasp of movement and the distinct manner in which he employs it is central to the beguiling nature of his work, and The Outsiders Newcastle is thrilled to be screening a selection of these film works as part of this exhibition.

At first I only saw the 2 people hugging but as you look at it for longer and look down at the feet you get a great feel of perspective.
Pricing seems bloody good value too when you see some other supposed Artists work being offered up for sale on here today.
This is real art by a real artist!
Good luck with the show and please post up more images of his work on the street and at the show.

Totally agree with you zippy. I'm really impressed with Robert's work. I'll admit that I never heard of him before this thread - the PDF has a strong body off work. Definitely one to keep an eye on and great prices for original artwork!

Thanks MGK1!I had never seen his work before this thread and ended up receiving the preview and buying a few pieces on impulse (breaking numerous resolutions for the new year). I'm looking forward to seeing the work in person, but pics will have to suffice until the show closes.

I received it last week, and it simply doesn't work in the spot I bought it for. I picked up another piece of his that is up on the wall, but the colors on this one really react poorly with the colors/materials in our house. Laz is aware that I'm selling it and has no issue.
It's titled "Grand Central" and measures 60cm x 60cm. I am selling this at my cost if anyone is interested which was 562.5GBP + the cost of shipping. The same size pieces that are left are priced at 750GBP + shipping.
