Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by Daniel Silk on Jul 27, 2019 5:34:54 GMT 1, Shepard Fairey seems to be releasing his older classic images again in larger sizes, do you think that’s something Banksy should also do? I think as an artists popularity grows, the older editions become so rare that it’s almost impossible to buy one at any cost, plus the lack of availability for collectors damages the potential following of an artist. So do you think releasing Banksy images in special large sizes, with more detail and on better paper would be welcomed by collectors?

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by Adam The Collector on Jul 27, 2019 6:03:26 GMT 1, I think his limited supply of prints will always prove to be better for his market and those who already hold his prints. While having large format prints of early imagery would be phenomenal I believe it would ultimately result in frustrating those who are lucky/blessed enough to have the originals and lessen the appreciation/value of them.
I love the idea but also how would the edition sizes be determined and even more important, how would the distribution of the prints occur? I just see thousands of furious buyers who have no chance of getting one. I can only imagine the premium these would be immediately re-selling for!

Maybe they could after the large prints to those who already own the original edition prints, maybe at a reduced price, I would have thought that would be a popular move.

That would mean those owners of the original print would have the option of getting the large print and selling the small one. I would have thought the values of the original edition would actually rise in that situation, what do you think?

I love Banksy art. His prints are shit, but I own a few, and I think it’s great he doesn’t release new works any more. It keeps them rare and special.

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by walfredo on Jul 28, 2019 14:01:47 GMT 1, quite interesting and really a print market disruptor....especially if it was done with high editions. Not sure how those buying at current market value would feel and doubt it would effect originals.
it does seem like a very Banksy type thing to do....after all....i cant believe you morons buy this shit!

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by cest on Jul 28, 2019 14:20:05 GMT 1, Id take a smaller signed edition over a VERY expensive larger edition.
Dan, Get with your people and help get the little people (me) the opportunity to own something of his.

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by mojo on Jul 28, 2019 20:59:02 GMT 1, Ugh? How about making unlimited massive prints of all the images on excellent quality paper but only in pink & yellow and you're only permitted to look at them if your first name begins with a J, you are wearing sunglasses and have been inoculated against rabies. They would cost £1.99 each and would only be available at your local Woolworths store.

I can see certain images really popping with some nice color in them. But I also find that some of my favorite images- example ( stop and search) - have just a tiny accent that works very well. Perhaps hand finishing with crayon or colored pencil. Even a little spritz of a Montana can over a stencil.

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by jimbofatz on Jul 29, 2019 3:14:19 GMT 1, Larger editions? do you know how much work that is?
What about settling for a hand-finished/bent coming out of the printer varied edition? Like you use to.
People freaked out and thought it was genius when girl with balloon came out all messed up and it became "Love in the bin" . POW and Laz have been doing that for years trying to pawn it off as a varied edition. "No, No its still good" has been said more often than any phrase at both those institutions.
There will one day be a premium on prints that have not been erased, bent, mis labelled, mis numbered etc.
Don't ask for more.

Banksy Prints in Larger Size, by nobokov on Jul 29, 2019 5:42:49 GMT 1, I think WCP should release larger sized prints if there's a clamouring for it, but not Banksy. This would keep the prices high for those Banksy investors and those who really purchase for the image itself, can enjoy the image at an affordable price.
