M-City ๐ต๐ฑ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by slacker on Mar 28, 2008 8:26:03 GMT 1, I think HMP are always going to find it hard to ingratiate themselves with the overseas market when (despite the image - whether it be hit or miss) they charge customers X amount delivery (eg. ยฃ16 for the UK customers - too much IMO) knowing that their customers will also get hit with an extra customs charges on top of that. I've passed on the last several HMP releases because I don't know what it is going to end up costing me.I understand that the customs charges are out of their control (there are ways around this regarding the way things are labelled, wink, nudge etc) but still feel it doesn't work in their favour. I know s**t is expensive in Norway but should that translate into studiply expensive postage fees for customers? Perhaps they've dropped the prices initially to head off these extra buyer overheads. I'm certainly not in the know - just expressing an opinion. That said, gotta say massive props for the quality of the prints which are totally worth the dosh at the end of the day though. They certainly don't cut any corners. A print house with great integrity and brilliant looking finished products that look the nuts. I think the M-City print is a touch cliche but fantastic none the less. Overcrowding and hyper-extending the resources, limits and consequences of our inner city spaces will eventually cause an implosion that has most certainly already begun and is hard to imagine a fix that doesn't involve the decline of the human race. Or maybe I've missed the point completely.
if they called it ยฃ120 with free postage then nobody would be complaining. it would still be very cheap by pow standards.
there's not a lot they can do about the import duty situation unless they move their operation to within the european union. it is no different to buying a print from the united states though. i have bought about 5 prints from hmp so far and have never been hit for duty (touch wood). my brother in law has bought the same prints and has never been hit either.

M-City ๐ต๐ฑ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Martin Whatson on Mar 28, 2008 11:12:45 GMT 1, I think HMP are always going to find it hard to ingratiate themselves with the overseas market when (despite the image - whether it be hit or miss) they charge customers X amount delivery (eg. ยฃ16 for the UK customers - too much IMO) knowing that their customers will also get hit with an extra customs charges on top of that. If you look at the prices before you check out. I think youll be amazed that the most expencive one will be to order inside Norway. 11 pounds more than to the uk! That said, Ill have to take their side at this matter. Posting from Norway is quite expencive. Ie. If you post a tube longer then 60 cm the minimum postage cost will usually be 26 pounds. Dont know if they have some special company deal or something, but you see things could have been far worse.
Also imagine ordering expencive prints TO norway. From everywhere in the world. Our customs limits are 20 pounds or 90 pounds if its marked as a gift! Over that we have to pay 25% custom charges :S That said, the three most expencive prints ive bought has gone throug without any charges. One of them actually had a funny text written on it by a coustoms worker. My Local footballteam Stabรฆk had just come in second in the series and the guy at the customs office had written 'Stabรฆk is best' with microscopic letters on my tube and not charged me anything.
Anyway, HMP are great lads. And this is a nice print I would love to afford. But sadly im all out!

That's funny! That would NEVER happen in this country

M-City ๐ต๐ฑ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 12, 2008 17:54:05 GMT 1, I disagree. I wouldn't buy either, but if I had to choose, I'd take "Bomb" (the last print he did). I don't like this new image at all.

Here's part of a massive piece outside L'Atlas' studio in Paris (this bit with Sten & Lex):
Some other bits of the same wall. Can't remember all the artists, but there's definitely L'Atlas, Speedy Graphito & Czarnobyl in there.
