I may be mistaken but it seems like $10k is the floor on KAWS prints.
Im not against artists with strong secondary markets charging closer to secondary prices. It discourages flippers and puts more margin in the artists pockets. That said, from what I can tell you can pick up a wide selection of Retna prints for ~$5k. The secondary market isn’t on the level of KAWS. If KAWS had dropped an edition of 30 at $10k a pop they would have lasted 20 seconds.

His work speaks to me far more than KAWS. Does an artist need to be bland, spotless and marketable like a 1997 Tiger Woods in order to rise through the ranks? |

(3 Black, 2 red, 2 white, 2 blue, 2 brown and another). Try to find one of those cheap. Will take some doing. |

I would suggest these prices are being set yes. Are they selling? Not that I can see..

Agree think it has tailed off a bit but I am one surprised that the new editions have almost sold out considering they are not s great image and overpriced....

I think for 2-3k usd more you can buy an original water color directly from him. Hes an absolute nut job ive met him and talked to him through text a few times trying to get an original he thinks his big pieces are worth 80-150k usd and I guess some people pay it.
He actually got into a huge fight if i remember correctly with printthemall because he wanted to charge an outrageous amount for the print and they didn't want to so the print got pulled from production then got brought back after they hashed out the details. Took awhile to sell out too. It basically eliminated the resale market which is both good and bad I guess?
If you do figure out a price you're willing to part with it at let me know I am interested. Nut job or not I love his art.
