yes, he's going to Australia for a visit, then back to new york. He may make a quick shopping trip to Europe for xmas

He should do all that in reverse, pick up presents for the family in NY and LDN then back to Aus for christmas with the family

Judging how fast his stuff is selling, he surely have some following.
As well as people hoping he will be "the next big things" these should consider playing the stock market instead.

Sure, he's going somewhere... just don't know where.

Just like every other young artist mentioned here who has (to my knowledge) stll not had any work hung in museums, reviews in major art publications, (sure he was in Juxtapoz) major gallery representation, etc. it's a total crap shoot about where he's going. Even artists who have had something hung in the MOMA or Tate aren't "sure things"...

Make your own decision about what you like and what you buy. You'll be less annoyed when you're wrong. And more satisfied when you're right.

You probably aren't going to get a very honest answer. Those that want to flog his stuff will say yes. Those that want to buy will say no. Those that think he will go far but are not buying themselves don't believe their own words. Those that have bought are duty bound to say yes. Even asking the question is going to cause you more difficulty to obtain his work as it makes you appear mainly interested in an investment, which never inspires artists to look after you. So its a silly question to ask really.

Unless of course you're holding lots of his stuff already, then maybe its a quite clever question. ;D

Maybe it's just me but that comes across a bit arsey. I thought he gave a great answer, it pretty much summed it up.

Personally I'm a little miffed by Anthony Lister. I've only seen his super hero pieces and they did little for me on first glance. They seemed slightly childish and perhaps, one dimensional. However I'm aware that people who I usually share similar tastes with think his work is really cool. So in some repects its true to say that i'm confused by him. I Kind of feel I'm looking at a naked emperor but want to believe he's wearing cloths but cant see them. Maybe im missing a back story that ties his work together or something ?

Hey Suave, it's always hard to answer questions such as this. Lister is genuinely talented and I love his stuff but there are never any guarantees. He has a print release coming up from Elms Lesters - it will be interesting to see which image they go with - I guess that will provide a clearer indication of where he's at.

I don't think Lister, Ian Francis or anyone else is the next big thing. People always try to play up the next big thing. There is no-one making the something even close to the same impact as banksy or even micallef did. In my opinion it is very unlikely there will be another big thing in the forseeable future. The cutting edge artists have shown themselves and time will tell if they rise to the top.
