Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by Heavyconsumer on Dec 7, 2009 14:59:12 GMT 1, People seem very hung-up on printing methods, but this is one of my least favourites of all the printed Lister images to date. I'd take a Coke Nights giclee over this anyday. Superman litho is still my fave of his though. As usual, it's horses for courses.

Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by chief on Dec 27, 2009 2:56:55 GMT 1, These are two random Anthony Lister pieces. As some of you know, he's a friend of mine and I've sold a small canvas of his last year through the board (smoking capt. america). Anyhow, I just moved out of my studio to a real apartment and don't have the high ceilings for the statue nor the wall space for the big wheatpaste board so I have to part with them.
The backstory on the statue is summer of 08 Lister made about 3 or so of them at my loft and gave me one when he left. The one I have is loaded with hand drawn detail. I actually didn't realize how much until I took the photos. They are quite unique in size when set up in a room. I'd guess that it's about 10 feet tall so steer clear unless you want to store it away. (it does break down quite easily for shipping/packing, but is still a bit long in the box)
The plywood piece came from a night of wheatpasting I helped him do. It was the only one we didn't get a chance to put up so I threw it on the back of a piece of plywood at my house (on the back is an obey wheatpaste and rambo and trice tag). It's a handcolored wheatpaste to begin with. Then Anthony spent a few hours drawing the little stars and galaxies to go with it. His signature is in the bottom right hand side as you can see. I like this one a lot but I have no room whatsoever for this kind of thing and storage just isn't an option anymore.
Anyhow, I live in the New York/Brooklyn area so local pickup is preferred but if you want it shipped I know for sure the statue can be done but not 100% on if they'd ship the plywood.
What I'm looking for is either cash or a trade. If cash, I'm only asking for $3000 for the two but I'd be willing to negotiate. As far as a trade, artists I'd consider trading for would be: Banksy, Lister, Connor Harrington, Kill Pixie, BAST, FAILE, Judith Supine, the usual suspects that people like on this board. I won't bother mentioning Warhol or any fine artists that I really admire bc I don't think anyone would trade on that level for these pieces. Anyhow here's the pictures:

Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by mp on Apr 3, 2010 8:45:49 GMT 1, Unfortunately have to let this piece go. It's a wonderful original painting by Anthony Lister. The piece is a diptych entitled "Wings" and is Lister's unique take on the classic comic book villain, The Vulture.
I am selling this at cost (including the cost of framing) plus worldwide shipping included.
The piece was from his 2008 Los Angeles show "Quit Your Sobbing and Call Me In The Afternoon" at New Image Art Gallery. The piece was additionally featured on the flyer for the show. I purchased them from a forum member shortly after the show during the summer of 2008.
Lister's work has been shown around the world, including shows at Elms Lester and The National Gallery of Australia.
There is a massive amount of depth and texture to each painting as pictured, with both pieces signed by Lister in the right hand corners in pencil. It's simply a beautiful piece and one that is hard to let go of, but it must be done.
The piece has been float mounted to archival standards by the same framer New Image uses here in Los Angeles. Each piece measures approximately 22 inches x 17 inches framed.
$2,000.00 USD
