Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by wimpy on Apr 3, 2010 13:30:28 GMT 1, i really rate Lister as an artist. i just don't get why he feels the need to mirror image lots of his work and sell as a diptych. hope this sells its very nice.
From his LTRHDS interview:
"Q: The use of the diptych has featured heavily in recent shows of yours. These works echo rorschach inkblot tests in their composition. What is it that lures you into this repetition of the figure?
A: I am interested in the act of problem solving. by painting two pictures in a mirrored composition, outside of it being down right tricky, it allows me to exercise my decision making and deal with my own aesthetic problems i lay out for myself."
Anyhow... nice little paintings and nice frame job. G'luck with the sale!

It is part of the 'boxing puppet' series of images that were produced by Anthony in 2005. It is painted on canvas measuring 30cm x 30cm. The work is signed on the side and back of the canvas, was purchased from a top Sydney Gallery and comes with its original receipt.
It's a great image and an early example of Anthony's work. I am selling because I have two other Lister OGs and am trying to diversify a little! I am looking for GBP 800 (which includes shipping to the US or UK), or would consider a swap for either a canvas by Eine or maybe something special from Shep. I can add cash or other pieces if necesary.
