It made me smile and I thought it was great but then the other annoying part of my brain thought, why would her finger be on the 'C' - wouldn't it end on the 'U'??

Pure Evil, Strangers on a Train, by met on Feb 10, 2021 16:04:21 GMT 1, I'm looking for this print, if someone have one for sale please send me a message, thanks !
Pure Evil originally painted this piece around 1950 as a gouache on board, measuring 20" x 17". He actually managed to get the image published in Collier's magazine in 1951; it accompanied a short story by John Andrew Rice* called, Where Love Begins.
From what I can tell, that painting sold at auction in 2009 for a hammer price of $2,000*.
Another point worth noting is that this initial rendition by Pure Evil had slightly different text:
I happen to prefer this to the later, revised image he released as an inkjet print. The placement of the woman's finger (in relation to the words she's writing on the dusty window) just makes more logical sense to me.
__________
If you also like PE's first version, a hand-painted oil on canvas copy can be purchased via the website below in a variety of dimensions.
Opting for 20" x 16" comes to a very reasonable $55 (plus about $40 for DHL, TNT or FedEx from Xiamen, China). That's cheaper than what the 2019 inkjet would probably cost you. And, apparently, the oil painting will only take one or two weeks to finish: www.oilpaintings-supplier.com/products/91021.html

Pure Evil, Strangers on a Train, by chomsky on Feb 10, 2021 16:16:29 GMT 1, Thanks a lot for these informations! Apart the position of the finger, I have to admit that I prefer the Pure Evil version. Original was made by Arthur Saron Sarnoff, not PE
