Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by confused2 on Jul 17, 2012 20:22:06 GMT 1, I submitted an ownership change request 4 weeks ago, and got an email from them last week asking me (the purchaser) and the previous owner to confirm the sale of the print. We have both replied so I'm assuming that PC are satisfied the print and accompanying cert are genuine.
Now waiting for the confirmation of the ownership change, as per previous experience.
4 week pales into insignificance though when you're talking about 4 months+...

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by artforartssake on Jul 17, 2012 22:07:35 GMT 1, Some of my prints have been with them since January (one for Mr B, a couple being renumbered etc).
In a way, it's a relief to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing delays. As long as the system stays water-tight then I suppose the delays are worth having.

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by boomtownrat on Aug 22, 2012 12:26:29 GMT 1, Hi all I am in need of some help and advice. I sent a unsigned but numbered Banksy print off to pest control for a COA. I sent the print about 6 weeks ago and am still waiting for a confirmation of it's authenticity from them. I sent the print via Royal mail next day delivery and it was recieved and signed for. I am 100% sure it is an original print as it was purchased in 2006 from an official POW outlet gallery and came with a certificate from that gallery. This is where the problem starts! The original certificate has been misplaced so I rang the gallery and asked if it was possible to issue a new certificate and was told this would not be possible as it was purchased before they started keeping computerised records of sales. I was advised by the gallery to fill out the enquiry form on the Pest Control website and obtain a COA from them. Having filled out the form with pictures of the print attached and waiting for 3 weeks for a reply I was told by Pest control that they could not verify the print and that I should dispatch the print to them for it to be looked at. So I sent off the print to be examined now the problems really started. Having not heard anything from Pest Control after they had recieved the print I sent an email to ask what was happening and recieved a reply saying that they were waiting for someone else to check it out. So another 2 weeks wait with out any further contact from them I again emailed them and had to wait another wee for a reply. The last reply from Pest Control said that they thought that my numbered print had never been released to the gallery where the print was purchased and that it was possible that a mistake had been made with the numbering and that 2 prints had the same limited addition number! They said they were trying to contact the registered onwer of the other print with the same number to confirm this. Now I have waited another 2 weeks and sent them a few more emails and have recieved no answers from them. I am starting to worry about what is happening with the print and what action I should take. Having not heard from them for 2 weeks even after following up with emails asking for info I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall and need to contact them in a different manner. I have tried to find a phone number for them and can not find one any where. I was also thinking about taking a day off work and travelling to London and seeing someone in person at POW about it but am not sure wether this would be a wasted trip as I will not know if I can ever get to speak to some one about it when I arrive there. So can anybody tell me if they have a contact number for pest control or wether it would be a good idea just to go to POW unannounced in the hope of speaking to someone. I hope somebody will be able to help me resolve what is fast turning into a complete nightmare.
Cheers for viewing.

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by Deleted on Aug 22, 2012 12:34:58 GMT 1, Wait and see what PC come up with, takes months sometimes (takes ages anyhow usually!). I think there was a cock up with numbering Banksy prints there back in the day?. Good luck anyhow, you could be in for a long wait. What print is it by the way?and was it a reputable Gallery you purchased it from?.

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by dotdot on Aug 22, 2012 13:01:48 GMT 1, i appreciate your concern ..
pc are both slow and .. meticulous - i'd rather use the latter term.
on occasion they can can be fast which leads us to the term... well if you're going to do it right - do it right every time. (it's fast when it's a simple chek confirm.. away you go..)
i'm sure we'd all wait for ages to get something checked out before we bought something... wouldn't we.. especially if it was costing a few hardearned quidlys.
so yeah ...
"the action you can take " !!! ? is a tad harsh - your work has gone to them for verification they can choose not to continue and send it back if they wish - it's a service.. you're choosing to use.
stay cool... bite your tongue and wait to hear from them.
i trust them like others here (what choice do we have ) ... as they both have a tough job.. and .. it takes a while to do .. what will only become a more complex job.. in the long run.
..
btw there are fake AR reciepts out there.

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by Lunch Special on Aug 22, 2012 13:16:25 GMT 1, Hope all tuns out well in the end.
Could you post those same pictures of the Toxic Mary print here on the forum? (please watermark them if possible) so your fellow forum members (welcome to the forum by the way) can help you out on this one.
My only question is why did you wait six years to obtain a coa from pc?
Hope all tuns out well in the end.

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by Graffiti Prints on Aug 22, 2012 13:20:31 GMT 1, Give them time it must be a nightmare for them to give COA on certain prints. In 2005-2009 I used to sell them in my stores up north and sold a fair few. Every couple of month I get a email from pest control asking if I remember what we sold but we took no records and the receipt just said art! Sometimes I can remember but most times I can not, there must be loads of issues like this and then there is how organised pow were in 2004-2007 would hate to see there records they were a shambles. So I don't envy pc one bit it must be a needle in a haystack at times!!

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by chaturz on Aug 22, 2012 14:04:32 GMT 1, maaaaaaaaate......relax, 8 weeks is nothing as far as pest control goes. So dont worry relax, they need to verify bits.
It may be as simple as the original owner resold this print via artrepublic who took a commission. Or they may have genuinely double numbered the print which is not unheard of with banksy prints in the pre PC days.
Remember they also need to chase someone else up aswell so try and be patient, Im sure it will all work out (I understand its easy to say and hard to do) let us all know how you get on and DO NOT post the pics you sent to pest control on here as some scammer could just get the pics off google then!
best of luck and let us know how you get on

Pest Control COA, Banksy Authentication, by 10biscuits on Sept 15, 2012 13:07:26 GMT 1,
Does anyone here have experience of dealing with Pest Control? They seem to be utterly useless at replying to emails and it's getting frustrating.
I have a Banksy Toxic Mary print that I am trying to authenticate as I am considering selling it and I know it's not worth trying without a COA. I don't have a receipt as it was a gift for my 21st birthday some ten years ago so they replied (after almost a month) saying that I would need to bring it in. So, I reply to the email requesting to make an appointment.... no reply. I mail them again some weeks later.... no reply. What a ball ache.
I've tried to search for a phone number but to no avail... any ideas anyone?
