Banksy Bus Stop, by Lazarus II on Sept 29, 2019 13:17:54 GMT 1, as a huge fan i personally don't agree with taking pieces form the street and putting them up for sale at all but it was nice to see Banksys work up closeย as i was informed the pieces for sale had provenance (although i'm guessing not from pest control last time i looked) it's stolen goods irrespective to provenance.ย ย presumably youve never walked anywhere with a traffic cone on your heid after closing time ?

Banksy Bus Stop, by Fast Eddie on Sept 29, 2019 14:09:20 GMT 1, Even with pictures of where the piece was taken from and by whom exactly, its provenance will be always imperfect and incomplete. In terms of value, it will be indistinguishable from ebay homemade junk soon, if it already isn't.

Banksy Bus Stop, by Lazarus II on Sept 29, 2019 14:18:09 GMT 1, presumably youve never walked anywhere with a traffic cone on your heid after closing time ? nope, underpants are my thing.ย ย Traffic Cones also generally belong to the Highways Agency, but you probably didnt know that.ย Those who catch buses to go to work then to/or to food banks or pick up their kids from school or because they dont drive cars, they do, as they are the ones who are impacted, but hey that is not your concern, its a first world problem i wasnt being specific about who owns bus stop signs or traffic cones, more about doing something against the law. Anyhow thanks for putting me right, keep up the good work.

Banksy Bus Stop, by Deleted on Sept 29, 2019 14:22:07 GMT 1, ... Call the Police... First world problems.... Why dont you ask the OP how much that gallery is selling it for, then you will see what a real first world problem looks like. On further inspection of the images, the rat's don't look like they were actually sprayed on, they look more like they were printed on or part of the background, and without any documented evidence of this work by Banksy, then someone with first world money, will have bought a first world fake. Yawn... Why are you calling the Police for? ... Because that someone stole a London Underground sign, or that its a Banksy (so its really about money), or that Banksy defaced a London Underground sign, or its not a Banksy?
Or you just love phoning the Police?

Or how about you re-read what I wrote, learning is fun, never dull.
How about this as a desired outcome, that the police confiscate the piece, and that the gallery do not get to sell it for the ridiculous amount they will be commanding for it, thus ending their interest in trying to sell stole items in public ever again? Or do you think that the gallery, the person who stole it, and the person who bought it knowing its not authentic and/or stole are just victims in all this while those who do not want any art stolen/taken off the streets, and sold to private collectors or put on display in sterile contemporary galleries, as the villains and we are just jealous people who are just bitter because we didnt steal it first?

Banksy Bus Stop, by Fast Eddie on Sept 29, 2019 15:00:56 GMT 1, The way one needs to look at a Banksy taken from the streets is: people stealing a piece of public art. Even if the art is on private property, it has public use and public value. Some just compensation to the owner of the property is due, but in the sense of compensating for the discomfort or lost property use, not for the art market value of the piece. It is public art and has externalities.

Banksy Bus Stop, by Deleted on Sept 29, 2019 15:08:28 GMT 1, Did anybody miss a bus as a result of said missing bus stop sign ? Yes actually there was a news story some years ago about a bus stop sign being stolen, as a result the bus stop nearest to their home was decommissioned, and because they had to walk to a bus stop which was further away, they were delayed in getting to their destination, which was to say goodbye to their mum who had just died in hospital only 5 minutes before they got to her bedside.
Waiting for your next flippant comment about the inconveniences others have to face on a daily basis due to theft of public and private property, so that some c**t can show it off at a dinner party to other c**ts who think like you.

Ha ha! Im glad I got you steamed up by saying First World problems... So far you mentioned food banks, victims, deaths (Im waiting for plagues and pestilence next) etc and not once mentioned that originally Banksy defaced the sign which makes it hypocritical.
But from my part, you are right and I applaud you for putting the world to rights. Dont forget to call the Police on the thousands of street artists around the world who deface/do art outside everyday.

I think I have made my view clear, twice infact, that I actually dont believe this is by Banksy and that it is more than likely a fake. Once with the actual piece by Banksy, and another about the execution of the piece, both are still there, its ok, its Sunday, you have probably been up late doing spice or mandy or necked skinful so your eyes and brain arent engaging.
However if you want to talk about the merits of the piece, I am sure others with more insight and experience will give you the intellectual discourse you crave.

Dunno if its a Glasgow City Council or Strathclyde Regional Council cone.
presumably youve never walked anywhere with a traffic cone on your heid after closing time ? Iโm more of a โtraffic cone megaphoneโ kinda guy. i like the megaphoners after shutting time. There is a statue of the late great Donald Dewar Scotlands first ever first minister in Glasgow City Centre and he is usually a cone head, itโs a sign of respect up here. Dunno if its a Glasgow City Council or Strathclyde Regional Council cone.

Banksy Bus Stop, by rebate on Oct 18, 2019 23:01:53 GMT 1, As long as you take the sandbag out first or you get proper wobbly heid. Remember to return cone to roadworks you took it from once the fun is over. Of course the walk of shame the following morning putting them back on the hard shoulder of the M25 I ran across both sets of lanes of the M25 drunk as shit twice, to avoid the extra 5 minutes of walking over the bridge. Im pretty glad im not that person anymore! Quite surprised that guy made 20.
