BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Buff Monster Fan on Oct 4, 2019 19:48:10 GMT 1, Does anyone have a sense as to how long the Croydon store front will remain up? I know two weeks has been mentioned, which would take it roughly from October 1 > October 15. I arrive to London on the 14th and wanted to be sure it's still around before heading down.

There’s something about this that is off. Banksy likes to fuck with people. It’s all a giant game. Think about the stall he set up in NY selling real canvases.
The letter the company posted is just so weird.

Not convinced, nor am i a legal mind, however if they reached out to offer royalties they knew they should not be producing without permission, and simply went ahead doing it anyway. Perhaps Banksy earns more than their company, but he is the artist and entitled to restrict the copying of his work as he sees fit.

Agree that it's all a bit dodgy. Can't imagine a little online card company has deep pockets for lawyers and prolonged legal battles. Also boggles the mind that they'd attempt to license hordes of intellectual property they very clearly don't own.

I'm a bit pissed
what does this mean? they did try and steal his name?
Aaron Wood, a lawyer from Keystone Law representing Full Colour Black, confirmed the greetings card company had made an application for a declaration of invalidity against a Banksy EU trademark.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by bigtlt on Oct 4, 2019 20:05:06 GMT 1, Sounds to me like they’ve tried to offer to pay royalties in the past and been ignored, so they took it a step further and applied for some kind of trademark for what they do, possibly to stop any future legal complications. This would then lead to them having full control of the Banksy trademark.
Leading us to where we are now.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Henry Gale Was Here on Oct 4, 2019 20:05:20 GMT 1, Whew! I was starting to get worried no one was gonna ride Banksy's coattails to a small profit on this venture! Next up, Zedsy, Ted Patrick, or other? Slightly different situation here mate. I guess I misunderstood the situation then? Figured it was Gonefellow or another one of the fake Banksy's.

Gonefellow is gonefellow, never claimed to be banksy, same with everyone else. If folks choose to buy because they believe someone to be banksy, it’s more on them than the artist. However i do not want to re-litigate this for the millionth time lol.
