BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by gimmeabreak on Feb 12, 2021 13:23:24 GMT 1, folk payin 100k+ for a banksquiat may have regrets
600 banksquiats out there, roughly half in hands of lotto winners, all about to get COAs this year. once COAs go out, will be one at every banksy auction for several years. supply rush will lower price
bring on the hate

While I don’t agree or disagree, I would be surprised if 600 are in the wild.

Id say the Banksquiat is a far ' better ' image than the Sale Ends..Im sure other will beg to differ..
Wall friendly and square.. id say that will help the price

So my point was that if the price didn't drop for Sale Ends once COAs were sent out, I don't expect it would for Banksquiat as it is a "better" image.

And a much smaller edition size, which some collectors are drawn to

600 signed banksquiats out there. 500 signed sale ends v2s
looking at all other signed prints, the pricing of the banksquiat seems like fomo to me. thats all. i think this sentiment may change when folk see it appear in every auction for the next few years. i also may be wrong

As seen in the wanted requests, collectors are specifically seeking only the colour they desire ie black edition or the grey edition so the numbers are split by the edition and lessens the work available for collectors. As with all banksy work, speculation on what will have an impact on the market, the collectors will decide the market rates when these come to An open fair auction

There are 300 Grey Banksquiats There are 300 Black Banksquiats There are 600 Sale Ends v2
Of course that's 600 Banksquiats together.
But you don't add up all "Choose your weapon" colour variants, do you?
300 Grey is more rare then 500 SE.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on Feb 12, 2021 14:49:21 GMT 1, So... according to the opinions on the Banksquiat value, we can easily compare these to the Donut prints (2 editions of 299). That either puts the donuts in a £200k + value, or brings the Banksquiat down to £90k value. I would go for the latter.

So you are saying that a Donut should do 200K, because Banskquiat does 200K ? Or Bq should do 90K because a Donut does 90K ?
But Bq hasn't sold for 200K, have they ? Last I've seen is an auction for about 125K, incl fees.
Not hyping anything here. I just don't understand the reasoning.....

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on Feb 12, 2021 15:18:06 GMT 1, So... according to the opinions on the Banksquiat value, we can easily compare these to the Donut prints (2 editions of 299). That either puts the donuts in a £200k + value, or brings the Banksquiat down to £90k value. I would go for the latter. The edition numbers are the same. There is a match there. I was just comparing on print size editions and the opinions of the prices. No Banksquiat has sold for £200k+ because none have COAs yet, so this is a completely fabricated price by other contributors to the thread. In my opinion, I'd put the Banskquiat value at around £130k when COAs are available.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by JFCC on Feb 12, 2021 15:59:14 GMT 1, Banksquait has been sold a couple of times at auction and few privately through galleries for up to c.£150k.
The Banksy market overall has increased by 20% historically (aside from last year) so I struggle with the concept that the print will be worth less in the future with a COA than hs already been acheived, as for a start there will be more willing buyers once it is issued and I cannot think of an example where that has happened in any market?
The non raffle Banksquaits were priced at over £35k+ so its a different position to Donuts or Sale Ends V2.0, as they have had to pay a big premium to own one. But what I do think will happen is the historical prints will catch up and will increase in value more quickly than Banksquait to narrow the gap but there will always be a premium as the market will always resent paying others the large increases in profit for short term holdings!
So in the next 12-18 months I would see it being worth £200k+ in the same way I see Donuts being worth £150k and Sale Ends V2.0 over £100k.
Just my view as I said!!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by diarmid on Feb 12, 2021 16:05:04 GMT 1, I'll pay £20k for a Basquiat so you can set that as a minimum. Should we start the price at £60k I think paid a fair price for these almost 1 year ago.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by tab1 on Feb 12, 2021 16:08:27 GMT 1, Anyone who believes there are 600 Banksquiats out there will likely end up disappointed Edition size and the number sold are not related thatd apply to any banksy edition so this is a moot point mate also twistin words, no one said all 600 banksquiats were sold
If anything before banksy became popular there were plenty of oversells in each print editions now marked Dn/ap probably more to come to light once more holders apply for COas With more control over the market with the two releases sv2 and gdp releases the whole editions may not have been released to the public ? Create less options coming to the market and those that do will demand a higher price Sv2 is one same edition you have the choice of colours with the banksquaits so less available even more so if the full edition not sold to the public
