At the end of the day it is up to the buyer to do their homework when making a purchase. If you don’t want to make an offer or have something beneficial to say (as what you’re saying is not beneficial as this one is a real Banksy screen print wether you like it or not) then don’t comment.. you sad sad person.

These prints are a piece of shit and should never be sold. The market is saturated with fakes and zero of them have provenance or archival value real or fake. This for sale thread is a con.

It's lies. Only people trying to pump the value say these cant be faked. So dumb, anyone to be buying these.

Not only because it's a rip off and a con perpetuated by the forum... it's also a shit image. Doesn't work without the clock. Bad art all round beside a momento of the show if you actually went.

I secured a few of these at GDP with my kids over the course of the pop-up. The guys handing them out didn't have much of a memory for who'd been there before day on day, and as a result I reckon I could spot a fake. For what it's worth the photo in the image looks legit to me although I admit it may could look different in the flesh. I don't know much about the screen printing process but from what I can tell the wrinkling occurs over time as the extremely thin paper absorbs moisture from the air. I have one framed in my kitchen and that has wrinkled quite a bit - perhaps not the smartest place to put it...the rolled ones I have in a drawer upstairs haven't degraded at all, but some of these were already being crushed a little bit in the security guys hands. I personally wouldn't get too hung up on the state of the wrinkling. There are undoubtedly a lot of these about - but many probably won't last too long either. The paper is thin. Like you could practically use one as a Rizla - so I suspect that many will get destroyed over time and they'll become rarer and, as a result, their value will increase.

These are great! I got a rat for 150£ when these first hit the scene. You know, Banksy prints go for 10’s of thousands so this was a nice gesture to genuine fans who aren’t as well off. As with anything, it’s supply and demand. I mean we are at a point where Banksy artwork on cds and vinyls are selling for a few k. But, with anything in life, buyer beware ... duuuhh. Bashing this print sounds like sour-grapes to me. This has as much provenance as a Monkey Parliament, Petrol Bomb & Soup Can poster and they all seem to be doing decent enough if you want to sell them.

This is how i received the print at the show itself. Hence why I have assessed it as mint. The few others I went along with also received prints that had this same wrinkling.

if you see my other posts i saw these rats being printed in their hundreds and have no idea how you would differentiate an og.

I don't have proof and don't want to drop the printers in it as they were naive as to what they were printing. They are now aware and wont print anymore but they printed 200 and gave the buyer the positives, so nothing stopping him going elsewhere. I don't need to prove, just making people aware and they can make their own decisions when buying. i just hate to see people ripped off spending thousands on these when as far as i am aware there is no way to prove authenticity. Also dont want to piss on the sales of genuine ones but i think it needed to be posted.

No I didnt, but I recalled the printer saying how picky the buyer was about the front being precise. I can ask.
Is there a distinguishing mark with the backs of the croydon ones?

The owner has the positives so can take those to any printer and get more printed. The paper is just newsprint you can buy anywhere. difficult to distinguish black ink. All you need to do is buy an 'original' and scan it, or get a hi res image and you can create a positive to print off.

It would be great to put this to bed once and for all


I can go to a shop and pay a guy a few quid and he can produce some monkey parliament posters, soup can posters and the tesco thing

Probably best to call it original condition. The paper used isnt far off what we had for toilet roll in school in the 70's. Although that had government property stamped on it.
