The mount is really narrow, acting more like a spacer— would have used a black core mount if only it were acid free. 99% UV cast acrylic for reducing yellowing (all free of charge cos I’m a framer!) This was the most damaged rat we got, but once under the gloss of glazing looks good. I imagine directly pressed up against the glass would look flatter but on balance less great for conservation.  image hosting
Would it be possible for you to tell me the dimensions of your frame and of the mount? I pressume it’s a 40x50 cm frame?

Mount Opening: 475 x 355mm (30mm in from the edge of the print)

Bottom Mount Width: 5mm (5mm black showing behind the white mount)

EIDT: When using a mount they automatically subtract 8mm from the item width and height, so for the above I'd say the picture size was 22mm less than the actual size of the print, i.e. 483 x 363mm. This will make the mount opening 475 x 355mm after they automatically subtract the 8mm.

I'd be reluctant to question the morales of SOME of the people selling these. As a rule I don't like flipping but I wouldn't class this as flipping. The reality is some of these people have never heard of Banksy and how could they justify keeping this when thier children's shoes might need replacing or they can book a holiday for the first time with the the proceeds. I say good luck to them I hope this little income boost gives a few family's not as fortunate as ourselves the chance of a nice Christmas and a little less stress.

I mean yeah I get that, but when they are shipped from 500 miles away in Cornwall and have a Ebay shop stacked full of artworks purchased on the last month, that argument falls flat. |

The print in question isnt for sale either so I'm not trying to mislead anyone just get an opinion as to why out of the two one is on a more coarse bubbly paper

So you picked got these prints on the 13/10/19 but you have only just noticed one is on thicker stock paper?
A note to everyone these were only printed on one stock of paper. Even if tstark is not trying to sell them now mentioning them on this forum is an attempt to build a false provenance and history for future sells.
Anyone looking to buy one of these prints ask for high resolution close up images and ask a trusted forum member to cross reference for you. Don't let your heart rule your head.

Exactly , to us here it is viewed as cheap , but to the average public that are aware of banksy but unaware of the lower level items or market in general it is still viewed as expensive .most artwork they would have been aware of is from the media out lets which are usually high end auction pieces . So the first wave of sales on the secondary market may temp some of the general public to purchase other items .people usually need to see for themselves actual sales rather than be told before parting with cash sometimes |

I pretty regularly purchase packs of expensive paper, unopened from source, and you can notice variations between them. This is mould made paper I am talking about. Sometimes it can be noticeably rougher to touch and almost feels as though it could be another paper type entirely.
I've not come across this in more standard papers, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this was the case. I think clear photos of printed image should help settle concerns.

I didn't feel good about expressing my reservations about you not wishing to accept paypal. But I thought that if there is nothing deceptive happening, then expressing my suspicions wouldn't hurt and helps discourse.
I think variation is probable but within limits. It appears that genuine rat prints have fibres in the paper, which can be indicative of recycled paper being used. In both of your prints Muttint I can see the fibres but they are more pronounced in one than the other.
With regard to you going to ebay because you'll have a safer experience, I think that might not be the case. I don't think here generally people will be looking to make a dispute if nothing is wrong, and that they'd more likely try to solve any problems amicably.
We're all guilty of a bit of trolling from time to time, but generally I like to think we're just looking out for each other.
