Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by bestdj777 on Oct 13, 2019 2:42:46 GMT 1, Kind of curious what everyone does for their frames? I found a style I like and now have almost all of my stuff in it, with the exception of two piecesโone framed by the artist and one large one that fit a frame I had left over.
Do you all put everything in uniform frames or use many different styles?

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by Jaylove on Oct 13, 2019 3:34:04 GMT 1, I keep it simple. I like to let the art speak for itself, so either a black or white box frame depending on the art.

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by iamzero on Oct 13, 2019 7:01:40 GMT 1, Generally just plain black or white box moulding of various widths to let the art do its thing. I also used a dark brown/ black ornate moulding which is impressive without being overpowering for certain works too.

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by bozwick on Oct 13, 2019 11:12:22 GMT 1, I agree with the keep it simple approach. I find it a bit frustrating when a great picture has been framed 'creatively'. Having said that, each to their own and you should really just do what you like.

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by AoT Framing on Oct 16, 2019 10:08:28 GMT 1, Took a while to think of a effective combination, but think I've nailed it! Just framed 'Grannies' to conservation standard, museum glass, black suede mount, silver detail in pink frame.

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by larryforsyth on Oct 16, 2019 13:51:17 GMT 1, I always choose a frame that compliments the image, in most cases the differences are subtle but different nonetheless.
Choosing the right frame is an art form in itself in my opinion. I enjoy the fact that a nice image on the wall isn't just about the artist - it's the craft of the print house, artist, framer and at the end of the day, where you position the final piece can also play a big part in its overall impact.

i do have a rather unusual shaped frame ..
if your art reflects what you are like and like - i doubt it will be boring , right ?

This would look so much better in a white or black box frame.

Frames - do you use all the same or switch it up?, by rjf76 on Oct 27, 2019 9:42:41 GMT 1, Iโm a classic kinda guy...white or black frame (as thin as possible), matching spacers....museum glass. Apart from a couple of dark wood, all pieces the same.
