Should i protect a stencil paint made on a wood panel?, by John The Badgers on Oct 15, 2019 10:54:54 GMT 1, I've used Ronseal clear wood stain, in satin wood, and gives a really good protection? I have a piece on 5mm ply, and used it to stop the wood 'drying out' and the panel warping. Once applied, you cant really tell if its on there. Dead easy to apply, water based, doesn't add any shine etc, as mentioned, you cant really tell its on there.
I also used it on a stencil I have on marine ply, which I wanted to put in my bathroom. Its been there hanging for a couple of years, and no issues at all.
