Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by stanley on Mar 28, 2010 14:59:05 GMT 1, " Now, people are given the choice between Banksy's boy or Rene's, I still think people will choose Banksy's just because it's Banksy. IMHO, the best piece in the story is Rene's pissed kid with the stone thrower :-) Far superior to the two other pieces. And from a collector's point of view, the Three pieces altogether would be awesome !
Agreed & thats my plan. Rene's is on its way but just a pity only got Banksy folded version.
Banksy knew what he was doing. The title says it all & is a clever follow on from Gagnons image (which is expected from Banksys legendary play on words).

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by bullet on Mar 28, 2010 16:10:43 GMT 1, could possibly buy in to it being an "unlucky coincidence" when he put it up at the Sundance festival - but then to release it a couple of months later in poster form after all the dust kicked up about it being a rip off of Gagnon's image - not so sure.... as I will never know the truth - the various conspiracy theories are tasting better at this point.....
there is no conspiracy about it, its ripped off.
all banksy has done is put the paint tin there instead of the spray can and added a halo

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by dingo5 on Mar 28, 2010 18:12:48 GMT 1, Got round to taking a picture about 10 mins ago in front hallway, looks really nice considering it's a folded one (Ironed). For those interested the frame I got it from Habitat Brighton 50x70cm £25 glass sandwich.

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by dingo5 on Mar 28, 2010 18:32:04 GMT 1, I took the poster into the shop as I always mess up with measurements etc. As I was offering it up to various frames one of the punters nearby came over and asked where I got it from. Of course I mentioned this forum ;-) and the popularity, folded unfolded etc. I think he thought I was some sort of anal art weirdo. I think the frame does the job, quite pleased really as the print just floats in the frame.

I dont believe that, any respectable artist would have spent more time researching their work than you could imagine. He would have been well aware of Gagnon's image before hand.

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by disclizard on Mar 29, 2010 2:28:26 GMT 1, Looks great framed dingo! I can't wait to get mine and put it up, all in due time! I think its a bummer that Rene reworked his image on the 'revisited' piece, I liked it a lot better when it had the background matching the Banksy.
I saw mention of ironing out the creases, would a heat press be ok to use for this purpose??

Can I trouble someone in the UK to pick me one of these up please? PM me with info, it's greatly appreicated and I know it's late so I am even more grateful.

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by milkybinbags on Mar 29, 2010 8:42:24 GMT 1, i have totally failed to pick one of these up - i live in london but have been away since these first came out. fail. if anyone has a spare, i'd be more than grateful.
anyone reckon dry mountain a folded one would flatten it right out? i know you'd only get the one side, but it was the only thing i could think of that might force it flat....

Possibly...hadn't thought of that. I thought it was more about the trespassing of graf writers generally.

No not really. I think it's not got anything to do with it. Why would B ask Robbo for forgiveness...?

interesting take - quite possible on some level;
given some of his past pieces like Jesus shopping bags and this poster, he does strike me as having a deep spiritual consciousness alongside his political and social depth.....

I'm guilty of this - I live in my own head sometimes....I hear some real artists also do that - me myself have no excuse as I am not an artist.....

Banksy • Forgive Us Our Trespassing , by Cedric Mnich on Mar 31, 2010 15:03:54 GMT 1, Don't want to make bad interpretations but I doubt he wanted to do an obvious repentance given what he said in his last interview saying that a street artist should not expect to consider owning public spaces... Nonetheless, it could be some sense of humorous "forgive me" message and using a praying child shows that ROBBO's reaction is really childish... Well, this is my personal interpretation and I may be totally wrong. We'll never know for sure anyway.
