I simply deduced a plausible and tangible interpretation of events, in school we called it connect the dots.

It adds value to works that have been verified and weeds out fakes and the multitude of middlemen. It deflates the hype machine which would be a good move for Banksy. I'm sure they will work something out with Christies and Sothebys that will allow them to auction large value items with pc/bb blessing.

The market changes all the time as you can see, B always has something up his sleeve.

If that was true-then flags wouldn't be 25k usd and would be $500 usd. Scarce drives prices... scarce is not how many is in a banksy edition because at the end of the day- if it is an edition of 10 or 700, it is demanded more than it is not and even the least "scarce" print is worth more than an average humans average salary.

There's a lot out there.. People just bought to not knowing the increase, to appreciate, to invest, etc.. Agreed, the edition number doesn't really matter because it depends on the demand. All authentication for GDP merch will be via the Bbay platform only. Pest control but without the paper. Enables Bbay to set the price too.

Depending on how he went about it I donโt think it would hurt either. Get some official highly desired images into the hands of masses while raising a bunch of personal/charitable funds. None of that would devalue anything thatโs already been released. Win-win for the artist and his fans.
