Bbay, The approved used Banksy dealership, by tab1 on Dec 27, 2020 16:06:06 GMT 1, Girl with balloon vip was released to vip list at 25k , the heart balloon with barb wire the same price , dumbo print similar price , and mentioned vip banksquait and flower thrower at 20k. The market benefits him the way As it is as he could release 20-50 prints at 20-50k to vips Open editions would not benefit him at this point in his career Depending on how he went about it I donโt think it would hurt either. Get some official highly desired images into the hands of masses while raising a bunch of personal/charitable funds. None of that would devalue anything thatโs already been released. Win-win for the artist and his fans.
It may lessen the Buyers in top End market . Believe it or not some people use finance and loans to buy banksy prints as they are attracted to the financial profit returns .
Introducing prints to the market gives more options and prices will lower as of the volume .
Itโ is about the rarity that appeals to the banksy market and look at the hype it generates .
More likely a gp vault model , a few released at normal prices via lottery and the rest Of the edition released at market rates

Bbay, The approved used Banksy dealership, by Pawel on Dec 27, 2020 16:12:45 GMT 1, With how crazy prices have become, and the fact that those who are now buying his work are the same people he seems to despise(capitalists, opportunists etc), I wouldnโt be surprised if B did something with Bbay that would essentially make his work readily available to the masses(as it once was), and in doing so bring the price points back to sanity. Sure it would hurt his pocketbook, but something tells me at this point, heโs all good financially, and it seems like the exact thing B would do, with some type of twist to it like he did with the $60 canvases via a NY street vendor.
I find it highly unlikely. They couldn't even properly shred their own work

The only moment in time when Banksy work was readily available to the masses was... when the masses didnโt hear about Banksy yet

Hence, as it once was. That being said, his prints were readily available and sub $1000 on the secondary market well after he became a household name. Wasnโt too long ago you could buy an unsigned morons or trolleys for $800-$1000

Bbay, The approved used Banksy dealership, by chefd on Dec 27, 2020 16:26:10 GMT 1, I'm taking the literal meaning of the information provided on the Baby page:
"The approved used Banksy dealership".
"Your first choice in destination in secondhand work by a third rate artist".
I mean really... what more is to discuss other than the mechanics on how the resale market will work?

Bbay, The approved used Banksy dealership, by oooomska on Dec 27, 2020 16:51:44 GMT 1, The BBay page on the GDP website always felt to me like nothing more than a very good joke, a warning shot across Ebay's bows, and a thoughtful - as well as beautifully poised - scene reminiscent of Breughel's allegorical works, in particular the Breughel-Rubens co-production Allegory of Sight, which you'll remember was a knowing nod to the typically Flemish tradition of the art collection- kunstkammern, were meant to offer a glimpse into the depth and variety of collections accumulated by the aristocracy, for which today read clever bastards who got in early.
I wonder how many UAA long-time Banksy-snafflers can see themselves in the shabby, casual yet venal pose of the carbooty-man, surrounded by half a mill's worth of prints. And if you like that, then you've surely only to ask who's this taking the piss out of? Us. The collectors.
Obviously this is all bollocks, but I do love the image.

Banksyโs ill fated legal endeavors have nothing to do with his ability to release and sell art. If anything he would strengthen his case if he actually started some level of mass production (which doesnโt necessarily mean flooding the market with unlimited items).
In a perfect world, Bbay will serve to somewhat regulate the sales of the existing works, while hopefully also offering a chance for fans without unlimited means to have something official from the artist. I would happily pay a premium for even high quality lithographs of some of my favorite images knowing that the money was going to the source.

Bbay, The approved used Banksy dealership, by Dexter Bulldog on Dec 28, 2020 13:22:33 GMT 1, it seems the few saying he needs to "disrupt the system" and make art available at a reasonable price point, have a very short memory. in the last 3 years between sale ends and gdp hundreds if not a thousand or so people have gotten his work at a fraction of its value. many of those have made multiple tens of thousands having been so lucky to get picked. and that is just limited edition pieces, if you want to hang an image on a wall, you were free to print at will.

And the reason he all but stopped releasing signed editions was due to the masses. Remember the problems with the CYW release and he had to release the queue jumping edition because of all the people whining it wasnโt fair? That was when things really changed and releases must have become more of a headache than anything...... caused by the masses

IMWO i believe the items will have to either be sent on to bbay or pc to authenticate, certify, transfer ownership, create a condition report at time of sale and further the documentation processes and create an even more identifiable database and with a higher collectable value for his body of released editions of works.
just sayin thats what i be thinkin....

Releasing 15 (or thereabouts) editions of 25 and an edition of 100 is a typical total edition size. My point is that when the artist has to go back into the studio to create another edition because of people whining, some of the fun is gone and itโs not surprising that releases change after that

The Glitter Gorillla ? Nope, not same group ( anyway it was not a group and it was 4:5 years ago or more ). I got one anyway , if skeet speak of this one. it was from a dude that left the forum and rather near NY than Chicago. ... The guy (s) printing the Pow Skull is more powerful and wellknown on here.. Maybe ( as a lot on here ) , I upsetted him/them one day ..

( Ah maybe you are right .. a red or a pink ).. Not sure.. I liked a lot the Ted Partick one, but when you are broke, you are broke - thatโs why I donโt answer in the thread ยซย you best print you bought .. I only bought the Cauty Queen but very deceived by the yellow on mine : rather orange/vomit/pink than gold and yellow !!
Prints or Artworks are too expensive and I wonder ( to come back on this thread. ) is there will have bargain or sales on BBay ? Not at all ?
Nope 2 ( blue and this one ? )
