8 years ago rat pow prints people kept saying when they were £1000 they will cheaper next year the bubble will pop and I put off buying , 2010 green rat  £1000 , what are they now £27k ? was a lot and still is for a print almost the norm now though , but since then the normal unsigned edition have risen every 6 months and now list at £16k!
the viynl records £10 now sell for £250 + , £5 and £10 posters now average £700 even £4000 in case of monkey parliament, they will unfortunately rise to unaffordable amounts for most and if a keen collector it is good to buy in now, just highlighting the average person does not really care 

Some (non-arty) members of the general public, that are getting £500+ on eBay for the free posters they picked up last week must think this whole art market thing is f_ucking mental. And I'll tell you this for nothing (50 quid), they'll have fond memories of Banksy for a long time to come.

I think it works better than the flowers without the thrower. However, if you'd never seen either original image you'd perhaps think they both work as standalone images.

As freebies, the rat prints seem alright, despite the absence of their original context of the clock face alluding to a hamster wheel.





By far the weakest of the posters in my view is the image of the flowers. It just doesn't work as a standalone piece.

Imagine a visitor asking, "Is that a hand holding out a bouquet? What's it supposed to mean?" Quite likely, the owner would be unable to answer without also having to spell out that it's one of three parts of a larger work. Three parts which, at least when combined, actually do make sense and hold interest.

Understandably, the owner might be a little embarrassed about relying on such a dissatisfactory art explanation. But the only thing they'd really have left is the option to name-drop — which seems even more tragic and desperate: "Um. It's by Banksy. He's a famous artist."


If I had any of the three posters, Crisis as Usual is the only one I would consider hanging.

Does anyone know the amounts of these given out? I seem to recall it mentioned on this forum but I cannot locate the info. There appears to be more Rats than the other two.
