Doesn't make sense. Nothing against any of the artists, but it's either just the hype of the associated gallery or some people buying anything to get their name in the good books.

Art News Exhibitions Museums Releases, by irl1 on Jun 24, 2021 22:19:48 GMT 1, Now Live
Tschabalala Self | Online Viewing Room
24 June – 13 July 2021
Pilar Corrias is delighted to announce TITLE, an online presentation of new works on paper by Tschabalala Self, alongside recent painting, sculpture, neon and video work.
Self’s recent body of work was inspired by the publication of Angela Davis’s landmark essay “Art on the Frontline: Mandate for a People’s Culture”, published by Afterall books, for which Self was asked to provide the illustrations. In the essay, Davis asks how we create true social consciousness to which Self responded with a series of portraits of three individuals repeated multiple times with slight variation.
Writing about this series, Self observes: “The series entitled ‘Black Faces’ shows the various expressions of 3 individual subjects. These subjects stare inquisitively out of the picture plane at the viewer and perhaps one another. Collectively the works emerge as something greater than their individual parts. Together this grouping becomes a community of sorts with a shared social consciousness. Their gazes shift in moments from disdain, to joy and even mockery -- mimicking the various ebbs and flows of any philosophical didactic.”

Art News Exhibitions Museums Releases, by irl1 on Jun 28, 2021 22:57:44 GMT 1, The Survey of Bristol Street Art Coming to M Shed
Graffiti & Street Art, Exhibition Announcements
If you roam the streets of Bristol, it's difficult not to notice cutting-edge street art decorating the city’s walls. Just walk along narrow alleys, down side-streets and through under-passages and bridges, a piece of street art would soon jump out catching your attention. Indeed, Bristol is a city with a long and rich history of street art.
Now, a comprehensive survey of Bristol street art is coming to Bristol Museums M Shed. Titled Bristol Street Art: The Evolution of Global Movement, the exhibition organized by Vanguard in partnership with Vans will explore the instrumental role of Bristol’s creatives in the development of British Street Art, from the 1980s to the present day.

Interesting exhibition with Michael de Feo (The Flower Guy) and Alex Katz (see below). Some of you might have seen the trademark flowers from The Flower Guy on the streets around the world and especially New York where he has been active for more than 25 years.
