Hotel in San Francisco, by Inknart on Oct 29, 2019 21:59:49 GMT 1, Hi All Looking for suggestions for a hotel in San Francisco for a trip next year, please. Will be travelling with two teenagers (will be 18 and 15). Ideally good location for site seeing but quirky, trendy, arty etc preferred over chains. Thanks in advance E I like the Hyatt across the street from Ferry Building. Great views if you ask for a bay view and reasonably priced. Can start at Ferry building and walk your way down all the piers.

Hotel in San Francisco, by sfnyc on Oct 29, 2019 22:00:44 GMT 1, I send friends that visit to this hotel, it's actually the best value imo but no thrills to the rooms, has parking and in one of the best locations in town (and across from my favorite wine bar, Birba). It's nothing fancy but rooms were renovated recently in modern grey style and again location location location
Days Inn by Wyndham San Francisco Downtown/Civic Cntr Area 2-star hotel 465 Grove St, San Francisco, CA 94102

Hotel in San Francisco, by nobokov on Oct 30, 2019 6:25:37 GMT 1, I'd second the Hyatt Regency at 5 Embarcadero Center. A really ugly building, but you can have great views and is close to the major sites, a 20 minute walk to SF MOMA, Jewish Museum, Museum of African Diaspora, gagosian. Close to public transportation (BART), and Light Rail to get you to the Ballpark and Warriors stadium, Dogpatch neighborhood, and to Fisherman's Wharf. It can be quiet in the evenings though, since it's the commercial part of town and caters to business hours.
I'd also recommend using CrimeReports to see where the more dangerous areas are.
The Kabuki is a bit far from the popular areas and you'll probably have to take uber or a bus to get to places. And Union Square is filled with chains, though there are a bunch of galleries peppered near there like Fraenkel gallery.
I haven't lived in the city for awhile now, but I'm not sure where the arty places are. I'd image all the artists have been pushed out because of the high rents. I've always liked the Mission district, but even there now, it's inundated with hipsters.

Be sure to download the 'Snapcrap' to avoid stepping in human waste

Hotel in San Francisco, by Inknart on Oct 30, 2019 16:42:38 GMT 1, make sure to swing by Spoke Art's Gallery. Ken is a great guy, I know he spends his time between there and his newer NYC Gallery. He's also a member on here.
