I remember that, but they were all Banksy images then. Mrs Banksy used an image by FAKE without permission saying it was by Banksy. People not very familiar with Banksy confuse work by other artists as being by Banksy.

But once the idea is out there it that CAN be copied.

Itโs the very fact that Banksy had the original ideas and that Mrs Banksy and her ilk have copied those ideas that make the quality of his work incomparably better, in my opinion.
