sales reference sticky thread , by tab1 on Nov 15, 2019 3:25:33 GMT 1, Would it be handy if silky set a thread page for completed sales on the forum for each artist. date and price added for each completed sale . a reference point for sellers , saves sales threads with out prices or offers in the region of getting off track if a member suggests a price and an a debate arises usually with references from sellers to gallery or auction prices , gives new buyers an idea of pricing too as many new members will be joining as of gdp and may have the new collectors habit of buying all new artists they come across and overpaying .
many members after a sale delete price or post so can not reference .

sales reference sticky thread , by Daniel Silk on Nov 15, 2019 7:37:34 GMT 1, Mmmm, interesting idea, but couldn’t it be open to abuse, that people could invent sales that never existed and record unreal high values 😉 and then use that to boost values even higher in future sales.

Once a completed sale is finalised , there would be a paper trail of the sales thread to check still,if buyer enters date and price also combines good dealings thread completed ebay sales links and auction sales could also be added , just a reference point otherwise open to offers , either too high or too low offers and some one gets offended and saves the occasional rants

sales reference sticky thread , by Lazarus II on Nov 15, 2019 11:05:06 GMT 1, For most of the completed sales on here I doubt that anyone other than the buyer and the seller know what the item was sold for; it's a rarity for all to see what something actually sold for.
I would proffer that the buyer and seller of any print up for sale would opine that its nobody's business but theirs and as such the chances of getting a list of sold prices on "completed" transactions are very low. I would also think that a number of "completed" transactions here were never really completed....
OP has a fine idea but I highly doubt that it would ever be successfully or meaningfully implemented or could be trusted.

sales reference sticky thread , by Terry Fuckwitt on Nov 15, 2019 11:16:41 GMT 1, It would be handy thing if everyone was honest, but they're not, so it will be easy to manipulate to the seller/buyers advantage. If people sell too high or low here, then members are normally quick enough to jump in and tell them. One thing I would like changed is I don't think sellers should be able to delete their listings or pricing once an item is sold. It would be a good reference point to still have these visible, but not sure how that could be implemented.
