Not sure it ever came to a conclusion of how they came to be and if it was just mockups intended to look great.

Glad to see this happen to such a great artist. I still have the piece of his I purchased way back. The controversy thing really doesn't matter now as his paintings speak for themselves IMHO. I will definitely try to get up to LA to make this show. I'know there are a few other forum members who have his pieces. Here's mine. I love it's haunting quality. . |

No, it’s signed and numbered on the white area, almost all the way out to the outer thorn edge. At least on the image in this thread it seems to be like that.
