Best art shows of 2019, by Coach on Dec 8, 2019 22:56:26 GMT 1, I’ve not been keeping up, so forgive me if this has already been done. Best art shows/exhibitions of 2019
For me it’s the Lucian Freud at the RA. Close second, the Paula Rego at the MK gallery. Close third, the Gormley at the RA.
The Freud was superb. Decent number of astonishing paintings. And to see them in person was a real treat as it’s the only way to truly appreciate the textures and the layering of the paint. Some had a huge amount of paint in some areas, many applications, whereas other areas of the same painting were freely painted with just a few strokes.

Best art shows of 2019, by pippyt75 on Dec 9, 2019 20:49:58 GMT 1, I don’t think you can beat Gormley at the RA for show of the year. But for great art plus outrageous piss up then Oli Epp in LA and Berlin. Going for 3 from 3 on Thursday!

Best art shows of 2019, by RoboJ on Dec 10, 2019 13:15:38 GMT 1, I missed the Haring show by a few days but one of my favourites is the Olafur Eliasson at the Tate. Really want to see the Gormley show too.
Ah just remembered! Opie's show in Melboure definitely! It was really nice to take the family, the interactive area for the children was brilliant. I'm still looking for an Opie print as a momento.

Did not know until recently that she was wife to Jackson Pollock. Makes so much sense! Haha

Best art shows of 2019, by ntinla on Dec 24, 2019 8:06:14 GMT 1, In terms of contemporary artist shows, the Tokyo underground show at the Jeffrey deitch gallery in LA was phenomenal. The build out for the sorayama room was amazing. Loved seeing Haroshi's work in person. Also some great pieces by lesser known artisrs
