Yeah the Red Lion, part of the Urban Arts Bars. I see it every time I drive past in the Ambo. Always have to have a look and see Churchill staring back. Yup, about time. Will be interesting to see if it lasts.

If the message is we should all be thinking about the homeless at this time of year, putting loads of stuff around a homeless guy ( you could say staging ) and then filming him as people walk past in the hope they give him something and then showing his 6.9 million IG followers that he has done it - i just don't get how that can in any way benefit all the thousands of homeless people on the streets.
I doff my cap to you pippyt75 saying it made you act differently on your way home and you helped a homeless person.. i just can't see it having the same effect on most people though..and realistically, with the power he has, he could have done something far more beneficial.. im in no way saying i know what that is.. but he normally finds a moral and different but successful way to help most of the causes he highlights. but i just don't think this does.

Like GDP. He could've (arguably rightly) just done the pile of lifejackets, but the other stuff (ok yes, and the posters) got more people there. I think the reindeer image will get more media coverage than just "Banksy posts images of homeless people on his Instagram and says FFS help the homeless!"

I thought the image is fine, but I don't see what more it brings to the eyeballs, than multiple images of freezing homeless out in the cold would do. If you've got a large following, just post images or some videos. People will watch. But I guess maybe you need to wrap it in something sometimes? And Banksy's an artist. This is kinda his thing. Whatever he does will pretty much involve humorous stencil-based artwork with a humanitarian flavour. Like GDP. And if the guy is actually homeless right now, I'm sure he consented to everything that occurred. And even if he's just a trained actor, then he'll almost certainly experience homelessness, hunger and poverty at some point in the future. So it's all the same.
