The other 400 prints, by scooter on Oct 7, 2006 20:44:44 GMT 1, Foundation...I am glad that we are finally on the same page. I apologize if your misunderstanding was caused by lack of clarity in expressing myself initially. I do appreciate your points with regards to building a collection. In regards to the use of the term "diehard"...I wasn't including myself in that description as I have not been 'in the know' long enough. I believe I used the term "hooked" to describe my feelings toward Banksy's work. I am justifying this to you and to the rest of the people reading this thread because I know that there will probably be a lot of skepticism and critique coming from previous fans of his work in response to the sudden burst of popularity with a new fan-base. I realize that among those people, there will be art posers just looking to be "current". But, please do not assume that is the majority. And don't dismiss someone's admiration just because it is new. New things come along everyday but not often is one inspired and enthused the way I have felt as a response to learning of Banksy's existence. I speak for myself now....I have been totally reinvigorated as a result of his work. When it comes to art...I don't believe it grows on you...that has never been my experience. I know immediately if I like something or not because it either moves me or it doesn't. And I've never been one to be fickle about art, music, or friends. That's mostly because I am slightly jaded and very opinionated so it takes a lot for me to be passionate about something/someone in the way that I am now. And I hardly ever change my mind. I have never been one to like something because it is popular...but I am certainly not going to do the opposite and stop myself from liking something because it is popular. Yes, Banksy is popular now. Yes, I know how it feels to be ahead of the game and the self-satisfaction of liking something undiscovered...and with that Foundation, you win. You have years on me. Consider yourself fortunate that you have had that much more time than us newbies. But don't discredit us all as fad-followers. Appreciation of art shouldn't require initiation...that's what fraternities are for. And I have never been a fan of fraternities. I signed up for this forum in the hopes that people, like Foundation, could be a source of knowledge for those if us who want to learn more about Banksy. So far, I have not been disappointed.

The other 400 prints, by mido on Oct 7, 2006 21:04:59 GMT 1, piss off you old grannie ;D
Well I think this thread's brought up some really interesting points. A nice heated discussion that didn't descend into a slagging contest. More threads like this one!

The other 400 prints, by foundation on Oct 8, 2006 8:59:29 GMT 1, Scooter, again sorry for the misinterpretation, as GM said some interesting points raised, I do apologise for tarring all newbies with the same brush, obviously the new high exposure stuff will be seen by more people, a good proportion of that will be interested purely for the art, as you obviously ( and pasionately) are. Sorry for being a jaded old f@rt and welcome, enjoy and good luck,

Foundation...no harm done! I appreciated the discussion.
Now, how does one go about requesting larger editions? You mentioned POW but aren't edition sizes determined by Banksy himself? Does anyone know?
