In terms of an open edition of that character I saw a prototype someone posted they saw on a KAWS Instagram post in the background. It was a little different than the original he was kind of slouched over looked really good. Very likely at some point he puts it out.

I think the story was that it was a medicom storage, but all of a sudden the market was flooded with more new clear chums (and maybe yellow and white). At the time the theory was that only a limited amount were originally sold and these were from the original edition of 500 as the numbering was not duplicated. I don't recall it being really shady, but a bunch were released in the secondary market at once after the fact.
This is just a vague memory, so details could be all wrong. It was all over the KR forums at the time.

Yes, this is right. You could pick up the Clear, White and Yellow pretty cheap for a while. There were tons of them on eBay.

I remember one day checking ebay and seeing a bunch of the white and clear ones popping up for sale. But they were def legit pieces. Just kicking myself for not buying the black chum for 400-600 back then. But life goes on lol |

But it was still fun to keep an eye on everything. I still managed to get my hands on a few works back then, mostly figures from Kawsone.com. I remember having to sell the three set of dissected 400% and 100%'s to buy a replacement laptop. ...now I am also remembering standing on State St. waiting for Office Depot to open on black Friday to buy that laptop. Wouldn't change a thing! haha.
