Harland Miller - In Shadows I Boogie - BLUE, by Cocteau 101 on Jan 13, 2020 11:20:50 GMT 1, Harland Miller: York, So Good They Named It Once 14 February – 31 May 2020 York Art Gallery presents a mid-career exhibition of Yorkborn artist Harland Miller. The largest solo presentation of his work to date, it celebrates his relationship to the city of his upbringing. Alongside more recent works, it will feature a selection of Miller’s acclaimed classic Penguin series and ‘bad weather paintings’ which playfully reference various cities in the North of England, evoking a tragicomic sense of time and place. Supported by White Cube

York Art Gallery presents Harland Miller’s (b. York, 1964) largest solo exhibition to date. Featuring both new and existing works, the show includes perhaps Miller’s best-known series; the ‘Penguin Book Covers’ and the ‘Pelican Bad Weather Paintings’. These works directly refer to the artist’s relationship to York, the city in which he grew up, as well as making wider references to the culture and geography of Yorkshire as a whole. In addition to these dust jacket paintings, the artist shows works from his recent ‘Letter Painting’ series; canvases made up of overlaid letters to form short words or acronyms in a format inspired by the illuminated letters of medieval manuscripts.

Harland Miller - In Shadows I Boogie - BLUE, by Deleted on Jan 20, 2020 15:13:36 GMT 1, I have the “fuck art” chairs by Harland Miller 2 decks. In my opinion price for a deck chair should be around 1500€ each... why so expensive?
