Visit TOKYO ๐ฏ๐ต Japan Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Deleted on Dec 14, 2007 7:43:45 GMT 1, i haven't heard of that hotel, but looking at their website it looks like a decent enough place and the prices are pretty good too! be prepared to have the rooms be pretty small though and if you've seen Lost in Translation, that shower setup is pretty typical. but who cares about the room?!? you will be in TOKYO!!! location wise it is definitely close to the station. hopefully not too close!! the west side of the station is a bit mellower than the east side (home of the red light district) and i have stayed over there before. it's sort of a nice break from the madness eventhough you are still right in the middle of it. in fact, that is one of the cool things about tokyo - you can go from a crowded, noisy, neon drenched street to a quiet alley with a temple just like that. and fortunately the streets can be confusing enough that things like that just happen! i'm supposed to go visit some friends over there sometime before Feb, but unfortunately work seems intent on sabotaging those plans....
thanks again! I think we'll reserve it now +1!

Visit TOKYO ๐ฏ๐ต Japan Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Deleted on Dec 14, 2007 7:48:06 GMT 1, I would definitly recommand Park Hotel : www.parkhoteltokyo.com. It's an amazing place to stay and you can go easily all over town with subway just under the building ! And don't forget to visit the Mori Art Museum by night...
Thanks Kairbag, I've emailed them and perhaps we can stay there for part of the stay. looks expensive though!

Visit TOKYO ๐ฏ๐ต Japan Street Art, Galleries, Events, by craigf on Dec 14, 2007 7:53:29 GMT 1, I stayed in the Hyatt the last time I was in Shinjuku, but as it says above it is a more expensive area to stay than some of the others. I would normally stay in Shinigawa, which is cheaper, maybe 17k yen per night, but this is just a business area so no shops (ok for restaurants). How about a traditional japanese hotel? One of my collegues recommended a place to me. I'll drop the URL for their website into this thread later ;D

Totally agree, stayed here before and is awesome.
5 minutes walk from Shiodome train station from where you can travel to pretty much anywhere.
PS I would avoid Shinjuku like the plague, stick to Harajuka, Shibuya, Ginza and Odaiba(Megaweb, Joypolis etc)
