That’s not true. The shop have a supply to fulfil orders from 6 months ago. There are no posters available to buy in person unfortunately..

I''ve emailed them a few times, and had two replies saying that this isn't the case. It’s a bit like Pest Control. They are obviously inundated and can’t reply to everyone. The procedure is they email you a unique reference you pay online and then you have to collect in person. That’s the only way of doing it. When I collected last week the lady in the shop said they are going to be happy when they are all gone as they are being driven mad by people wanting the posters.

Exactly - are not available. The last email I got from them was in early September. The original reply I had from them in August included this "I have spoken to the retail manager and we are taking no Mail Orders for the Harland Miller poster, we are sorry for any disappointment this will cause". Therefore, they are sadly not available unless you were/are already on the waiting list.

Harland Miller • YORK, So good they named it once, by Balboa on Dec 18, 2020 22:08:39 GMT 1, For all intents and purposes this is sold.
I annoyed the forum member who responded first by asking them how they'd like to pay and then deciding to sell instead (for the exact same price) to someone who responded 2 minutes after the first responder but who lives locally and offered to collect, which means a physical handover and the peace of mind that this won't get lost or damaged in the mail. And it is obviously more convenient for me (and whilst I am caring for a family member with a disability that (convenience) is what I need right now).
So, if for some reason it falls through with the second person who showed interest, then it will go back to the first (even though they weren't exactly very understanding of my reason to sell elsewhere and suggested that I had instead got cold feet over the price). For the record, I did share the conversation I had with my local buyer to show that I wasn't making it up.
If the first responder doesn't want it then I have eight other buyers in the queue.
Anyway, don't know why I'm telling everyone this, but that's the situation.
I await criticism and or judgement.

For full transparency, when I contacted balboa and offered to pay a bit more, he declined but offered to go through with the sale at his stated price. I am new to this whole thing and not schooled in etiquette when it comes to purchasing from forum members, so my apologies on that front. Will be more polished the next time around, I hope!

No need to explain, you made a reasonable offer and the seller agreed out of convenience. Job done, no drama, the seller has a few quid and you’ve a great print by being in the right place at the right time
Congrats
