I'd like to make it easier for us to connect, show off art, ask about local services or events and call attention to sales threads from folks on this side of the pond.

Between shipping costs, custom fees, the risk of damage while in transit, and last but not least the environmental impact of the process, it just makes sense to conduct transactions locally as much as possible. Unfortunately, as a Canadian citizen who's been 'in the game' for some time now I can tell you that rarely ever happens in my neck of the woods. Out of all the transactions I've made, only two were with fellow Canadians. I don't have anything to sell or trade at the moment and I'm not really looking to buy either (although the temptation is always lurking around the corner) but good on you for starting this thread @comicsguy.
