I'm expecting to be paid this week, it's a few thousand $$. I work with Alan Zeng for appraisals, and Meghan McCarthy handles my customer service on the consignment side. Here's a quote from an email reply I received from Meghan when I asked her to illustrate a timeline of the process for me; "We settle consignment payments once a week. Once collection has been confirmed, you will then become eligible for payment. I see your Bank of America account on file so you are set to receive payment via direct deposit. Hammer fell on February 28th for '*******' and we received buyer payment on March 13th. The buyer payment is what triggers our collection and payment process. Your ******* '**********' is scheduled to go live in our Street Art sale on April 6th. You may also track your live consignments by using the "Your Account" > "Consignment" tools by logging into your Paddle8 account. Please don't hesitate if I can be of further assistance. Shipping even a rolled print from the US internattional is $100 that doesnt include packing or insurance. anything framed is pricey. It's their job to pack professionally like any online business.ย I've bought prints (albeit without extra added insurance) from the US and worked out the shipping options myself for the seller, and had them ship US to UK for something like $33. Usual artist or gallery shipping costs for prints is $50 if not less. I can ship a $1000 print (insured for that value) UK to US for about ยฃ35. That's just me as an individual googling courier companies and using the options available, not a large company who would have discounts from various couriers from having an account. asking 50% for shipping a $500 print is taking the piss in my opinion.
Paddle 8 doesn't pack and ship themselves, at least for myself being outside of a large city. They send a 3rd party to the seller to pick up, pack, and ship. Costs more but very nice for the seller and it seems most Paddle 8 buyers are willing to pay for this peace of mind.
