Swann Galleries are amazing, won an Elizabeth Peyton litho, $70 to ship I thought was fair for the price paid NY-CA. This thing came in an 11lb box wrapped like Fort Knox, just amazing.
BUT Julien's Auctions, rip of with their shipper (forgot the name). They wanted $250 for a piece 1/10 the price and size to ship from LA to Bay Area. I was able to work something out with a local UPS office so there they were cool but initially crazy.

Everything is packaged professionally BUT it is insanely pricey. If they deem the item oversized expect to pay over $800. They wanted $825 to ship a 120cm x 100cm piece which I found utterly ridiculous.

After that it's custom shipping quotes which I find ridiculously priced. |

I would contact them ahead of time, but I would think if there is no condition issue, but there is a condition issue upon arrival, then there is an issue.
