Hope the OP and anyone else with issues get sorted, and others take it a a warning for future thoughts on consignment
not the first time we hear something like that about Paddle8, it has personally led me to stay clear from them Same. Feel like Iโve heard too many stories to want to test the waters.

Yep. Followed up and took legal advice.
They were registered in Germany under โAuctionataโ so i was told i needed to pursue them in Germany. My son lives in Berlin and found me a lawyer but i was told it would cost me more upfront than the amount owed and it could take years and thousands of ยฃยฃยฃยฃ.

I was told not to consign with them a month or so ago. They have a history of not paying and administration and I think they may go under again. I hope it wasnโt a lot of money. Photo London had a charity auction last year with this company, I explained why I could not bid with them due to them still owing me money. Auctionata were a similar outfit that went under and reinvented themselves as Historia - another company to still well clear of.

I would probably pinch Eine's style and let the title of the art exist as the body of the art. Perhaps an oil on canvas, watercolor, or color drawing. Something colorful & bold.
I'd then list that art for sale on every popular selling site like ebay and other sales boards tagging popular artists that Paddle 8 enjoys consigning like Banksy, Kaws, etc.
With the listing, I'd detail the inspiration for this original artwork. I'd also list it for the amount I was owed.
If you lack in creativity, Nott Art would probably accept a reasonably priced commission and you'd explain the inspiration for the commission in the listing.

Its a real shame as I have used Paddle8 since it stated nearly 5 years ago and used to be great service, but over the last 2 years its been awful.

They take a lot of items that Artnet won't and are a lot easier to negotiate with on fees. I have not heard of anyone complaining about not being paid since the Auctionata fiasco but where there's smoke, there's fire. |

From past experience, you'd be wise to use your AMEX for this. I feel like I've had pretty good luck sorting out various situations when I paid with my AMEX.

It is quite hilarious that you get paid a day after one of their urban art auctions ended. It seems like they are paying with future sales and I guess who ever co-signed to yesterdayโs auction will be stuck waiting for the next run.
