Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 15, 2020 19:30:27 GMT 1, You've just started the bull run! just been shopping case of Panadol on the shelves and people are at wits end as the shelves displaying paracetamol are bare but the Panadol on flu section and does not display paracetamol on front of the packet , people need to be calm and read a lot of other products with paracemol and caffeine not sold out but seems everyone is rushing for just paracetamol as that's the advice from the government 🙄 I have seen some warnings about not using Ibubrufen and other anti-inflamatories of that type with Coronavirus as they weaken the immune system. So paracetamol is the one to have. The recommendations are from the French government and are on theguardian.com Handy to have people post links for referencing as some information others may not be aware of

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Knowss on Mar 15, 2020 19:54:17 GMT 1, Useful info: I got this from a friend whos brother is at the Stanford hospital board. This is the feedback for now on Corona virus: The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late. ..Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In critical time, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air. Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry.Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don'tdrink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous.
Stop spreading false information, that is not true. A simple Google search goes a long way.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Express Post on Mar 15, 2020 19:54:29 GMT 1, Another VIP!
Talk to me!
Got the pdf in Jan and shared it with the whatsapp group.
Mine is now at the border awaiting admin fee and VAT payment. Still have to update the HS Tarif code so I only have to pay 5% VAT. I heard its the talk of the town.
I'll provide shipping updates every hour and hit up Pest Cuntrol when it's in hand. Before you think of asking, it's NFS and due to security reasons I won't be posting pics.
PS. Don't forget Monday catch up when all VIPs get together, show off our lastest pickups and scissor each other.
To date, South Korea pop. 51m have completed 250,000 tests, USA pop. 329m have only completed 14,000 tests. A lot of the us testing kits are faulty. The Trump admin were given a headstart in Feb to do something about this but pissed away the opportunity. Also the us offices of organizations I dealt with in Feb were complacent in their attitudes. Presumably, as a VIP, you were given early access to the virus as part of a pre-release.

Self Quarantined here...I got the flu symptoms but can't get tested for corona virus, it's no joke...lungs feel heavy causing light headiness feeling like i've never felt before...it all started with very dry chopped lips about 10 days ago...pretty healthy myself , can run a mile in 6.42 seconds...or 7.10 seconds at a more manageable speed (by USMilitary standards that puts you in the top 2%). this virus knows no boundaries. People in NYC are tooo liberal in the way they are going about this virus..i believe they are at stage 3 of crisis management: "We say that maybe we should do something about it, but there is nothing we can do" excerpt from a masterpiece of political satire(truth in comedy)

Hehe yeah please make sure you do. This doesn't sound like something to just carry on with, hopefully you've got some provisions in place or someone who can get you some food if you need?
Take care mate!

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 15, 2020 20:30:40 GMT 1, Government has majorly caused a calamity with the handling of the pandemic , they have not put any strategic plans in place although they had a heads up with data from other countries prior to spread infecting the uk , the NHS has been underrun and underfunded for decades, reliant on temporary overseas medical staff that costs three times the cost of home staff, plenty of time to rectify but invested heavily into cross rail and brexit now their response is wait until summer when more beds will be available as seasonal flu will be down? That's not the response taxpayers would agree with ,with taxes supposed to support the NHS . now press releases show isolate elderly at home for up to four months? This generation is the largest part of society that have worked their entire working life and contributed the most n.i taxes that supports the NHS so they should receive a NHS service , already so many services cut for the elderly . all statements from the government are damage control , they release more information day by day so the general public can take in the information without mass panic if all information was released at once . the way the press releases are released by the government show it is a long term situation . at the moment deaths are all with underlying health issues that put a strain on the NHS , wonder if government would act faster if the same rate of fatalities would be the same through out age groups regardless of previous health issues
another query , scientists state cross spread of the virus from Chinese markets but in the rest of china the markets are still run the same ? Thought China was on top of the situation.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Deleted on Mar 15, 2020 20:58:19 GMT 1, thanks for the get well soon wishes 💓💓💓. i do have provisions partitioned and all..2008 was an eye opener for me. I'm taking this time to dwell more into hobbies and meditation. One thing i've learned in this life is that wether good or bad somethings in life are meant to happen, the options of what road to take are there but we all have our fixated checkpoints that we must pass, regardless of how young or old we are.
cuz' baby when it's your time to go,you gotta go.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 15, 2020 21:14:12 GMT 1, I feel like the effect on the art market will be a lot like the effect it has on the housing market during a crisis or recession. The art held by the 99% is subject to large swings as they lose their jobs and need money to support their family and are forced to unload assets to support their families at whatever they can get and fast. As family comes first. Always. The art held by the upper portion of the 1% will hold its value as when u have millions, u generally don’t need to unload assets quickly to float urself. Even if you lose heavily in the biz world or market. They’re paper losses and will bounce back. So u don’t have the panic selling issue. For most at that level anyway. You could have over vested and extended urself, but the upper 1% also have more alternatives at their finger tips as well, like leasing their works to galleries vs having to sell them. Or just knowing people to float them until they get back on their feet. If u got a black card, u don’t give a f**kabout covid-19 affecting ur art collection. So I would say so-called blue chip artists will continue to rise and hold value where-as the rest of the art world will flounder if this pandemic isn’t over quickly. And I also see galleries who are not in the blue chip art dealing world folding during this crisis as well, running a business isn’t free. And that sucks as the smaller dealers and artists are the future and also humble for the most part. Soo, if I was an artist or art dealer/gallery, I’d be looking to do some fund raising for those greatly in need through their art and their galleries if they want to continue to feast. That is assuming this lasts for several months. They need to give people a reason to buy their art that makes them feel good about themselves. As anyone that’s ever been in sales (and was any good at it) knows u aren’t selling a product as much as u are selling a feeling or image to the buyer. That image starts with who u are buying from. I would also say the known greedy sellers will be the first to get Pimp slapped with a dose of karma during this whole horse n pony show. 😉 Personally, I’m gonna throw on some tool and listen to a lil enema when those leeches get theres. 😁 A few prints will pay for private health care for a year! Now known can not rely on NHS in this crisis!Sales threads to follow shortly!

Private health beds will be bought up by the government if they need them.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by thor on Mar 15, 2020 21:30:49 GMT 1, It's all going to be ok people. The art market is a safe haven in times of turmoil and is not affected adversely by the money markets, and if anything I would expect sales of middle to high end originals and prints to increase as a safer option than stocks and shares.. Be safe. Take necessary precautions and all will be good.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Terry Fuckwitt on Mar 15, 2020 21:33:17 GMT 1, thanks for the get well soon wishes 💓💓💓. i do have provisions partitioned and all..2008 was an eye opener for me.
Take care, sure you'll be good in a few days. Keep us posted on how your getting along. Maybe we should start up our own poll here on who gets infected, I don't trust government figures.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Mar 15, 2020 21:42:11 GMT 1, This Guardian article about ibuprofen is unproven with C19.
The study the article is based on was on Bacterial Pneumonia .
Even the Guardian is spreading fear!!!
And as for the hope of a vaccine, how long has HIV been about? No vaccine for that. I'm afraid C19 is with us for a few years, best get it now and be done with it.

Some Tweets now saying the anti-inflammatory warning is incorrect. I don't know what to believe anymore. So just need to focus on information from trusted and credible sources.
