Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by irl1 on Mar 15, 2020 22:03:08 GMT 1, Some Tweets now saying the anti-inflammatory warning is incorrect. I don't know what to believe anymore. So just need to focus on information from trusted and credible sources. Ireland have 6 people with the virus in a serious condition after taking anti inflammatory-drugs
This is not a bullshit off the cuff remark, its fact

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Mar 15, 2020 22:16:08 GMT 1, The people in Ireland are ill because they have C19. I'm sure everyone with symptoms takes ibuprofen, don't you when you have a cold/fever?
As i said, that Guardian article was based on a study into Bacterial Pneumonia. The Pneumonia C19 generates is very different.
As for buying an oxygen concentrator. Same as the toilet roll, leave it for the people that need it, although don't you think if this lot were any good Matt Hancock would have bought it up. Up to you, but if you are that ill, don't you want to be in hospital, corridor or not.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by irl1 on Mar 15, 2020 22:17:52 GMT 1, From what Iโve read, doctors in the know are just as clueless as those who arent. They donโt know how people are getting infected without a known source, how people released are getting reinfected weeks later or even how it started. Hell, China still doesnโt know why it happened or who patient zero is. Supposedly. Itโs prolly a poor Muslim from one of their work camps that โdisappearedโ. One thing in getting through to the actual answer is to never ignore the obvious. Like for instance, a country known for human rights violations and the fact that in all of China the ONLY facility equipped to deal, test or experiment w/ these viruses just happens to be in Wuhan. Heck, I wouldnโt be surprised if their make shift hospitals were already apart of their response if their illegal testing happened to get out. They did pull them off overnight. That in itself is an eybrow raiser. Again, this is all just floating scenarios based on facts. I donโt know many people that would be shocked if this came out as true. 144 deaths in Spain and 368 in Italy yesterday this is getting really bad

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Mar 15, 2020 22:24:43 GMT 1, It's bad for current times, but then look at the Spanish Flu after WW1. Tens of millions dead and it hit the 20--40 age group more so the effect on the economy was devastating. Harsh though it is C19 is hitting the old, think of all those healthy pensions and expensive medical care that won't need to be provided....did someone say conspiracy theory???

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Mar 15, 2020 22:37:01 GMT 1, You can't generalise, but generally, he generalises the healthier your lungs, the better your chances.
Can't remember the stats exactly but heard that in China men are twice as likely to have a bad outcome due to 50% of them smoking as opposed to something like 5% of women.
And as for Private hospitals, they may have bed but they don't have AandEs. They have respirators for the anaesthetists, but they are hospitals for simple stuff. They will hand over what they can to the NHS without question.

I still think the economic fall out has a long way to go, certain industries are going to be decimated. I still can't see how someone who is being told to stay at home for months is going to feel if he/she is not earning any money and is falling into debt/not keeping up with the mortgage/unable to feed their family.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mojo on Mar 15, 2020 22:51:05 GMT 1, Got up, masked and gloved up to go to my local shop for milk, it was rammed and being looted! Called a mate in Gran Canaria and they are on total lock down, a few pharmacy and supermarkets are open but are only allowing small groups of people in wearing protective clothing and masks and nobody is allowed out in couples or groups, they were pulled over by the police and warned of fines for breaking curfew rules for both being in the same car. They have to apply for a permit to walk the dog, its timed and the person has to have protective mask and clothing on.
Meanwhile here in the UK we wash our hands while our prime minister warns us to expect loved ones to die.

Imagine if this hit the world in the 1920โs like u mention. Probably have the same effect. By now, the entire world would probably already be infected. I donโt think it was engineered to attack old people. I think that as someone else mentioned, the war on cigarettes is sparing the younger generations. If smoking was as prevalent now as in WW1, I think the mortality rate would mirror that tit for tat. Hell, my great aunt died from lung cancer and never smoked. Her husband did, like a chimney and outlived her by 20 some odd years. Obviously we have better medical facilities. Imagine if one of the avian flus spread like this. Didn't H5N1 has a mortality rate of over 50%!! Don't even want to think about it. Anyway, how should I frame my Harland Miller poster?? Black frame, floated I'm thinking??

For sure, thatโs why all of these measures are unsustainable, they can last a few weeks or months at best. Fairly soon the lockdowns will create more problems than they solve and they will cause massive fall out for numerous industries. Do expect unprecedented fiscal stimulus over the coming months, once the supply side of the economy gets going expect big demand in certain areas pumped by all the cheap money. Itโs looking like 0.1% interest rates in the UK very soon, with QE and big government spending and bailouts for key industries. I expect that will prop up asset prices but cash businesses will be fucked. This is really the death knell for retail and leisure as we know it in the UK.

Read the experiences of the majority who get ill with symptoms no more severe than your average cold, don't get sucked in to the hype. The worst thing would be to shut this down for it to then re-emerge next winter along with other dodgy stuff. Let's get the majority infected in a controlled manner, whilst protecting the vulnerable. I'm afraid this thing isn't going away in a hurry.

Iโm still an Art Padowan. Learning lots here though. Cool group of cats mostly. But personally, itโs hard to go wrong with a black frame and floating on any print in my opinion.
The main difference between that and this is that h5n1 has a vaccine. If it didnโt, it would be a much bigger deal.
Agree with Black, floating only on some stuff.
Yes, luckily we have flu vaccine and just jig it about to suit the strain.

Spot on and donโt bankrupt people who need to feed their kids in the process whilst creating massive public unrest and trampling all over our rights and freedoms. Everyone is criticising the UK for playing the long game, theyโd rather they introduced draconian and reactionary measures because of political pressure with no real analysis or thought around the costs, benefits and long term repercussions. I personally think a measured response is the right way given the information we currently have to hand.

Only 13 posts on that one this account already has enough Self Quarantined here...I got the flu symptoms but can't get tested for corona virus, it's no joke...lungs feel heavy causing light headiness feeling like i've never felt before...it all started with very dry chopped lips about 10 days ago...pretty healthy myself , can run a mile in 6.42 seconds...or 7.10 seconds at a more manageable speed (by USMilitary standards that puts you in the top 2%). this virus knows no boundaries. People in NYC are tooo liberal in the way they are going about this virus..i believe they are at stage 3 of crisis management: "We say that maybe we should do something about it, but there is nothing we can do" excerpt from a masterpiece of political satire(truth in comedy)
Get well soon mate

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by pellets on Mar 16, 2020 0:49:04 GMT 1, Obviously we have better medical facilities. Imagine if one of the avian flus spread like this. Didn't H5N1 has a mortality rate of over 50%!! Don't even want to think about it. Anyway, how should I frame my Harland Miller poster?? Black frame, floated I'm thinking??
Iโm still an Art Padowan. Learning lots here though. Cool group of cats mostly. But personally, itโs hard to go wrong with a black frame and floating on any print in my opinion.
The main difference between that and this is that h5n1 has a vaccine. If it didnโt, it would be a much bigger deal.
Agree with Black, floating only on some stuff.
Yes, luckily we have flu vaccine and just jig it about to suit the strain.

Thanks for your posts tonight, appreciate some level headed chat

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Express Post on Mar 16, 2020 1:11:50 GMT 1, Don't tell that to the Italians. Their #2 ranked healthcare system in the world SSN is putting a lot of people in the ground. It's embarrassing.
I hope this stops racism in that country, starting at the Serie A level. Lukaku, Balotelli, Smalling, Henrique, Vieira, Koulibaly are all victims, and the racist fans have gone unpunished. Lazio fans are pretty bad.
From what Iโve read, doctors in the know are just as clueless as those who arent. 144 deaths in Spain and 368 in Italy yesterday this is getting really badย
