Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by LJCal on Mar 20, 2020 23:07:29 GMT 1, The British thought they could handle us too, until we bitched slapped them back across the pond. 😂😂😂 I hate to do it, but I can't help drawing parallels between you and the Coronavirus. You first made your presence known before Christmas. Although innocuous at first, you now seem to be spreading exponentially throughout this forum and unfortunately you're now beginning to strangle the life out of it. Some of the elderly members of this forum are notable by their absence, and I fear the vulnerable have already fallen victim. Can I please urge self-isolation before it's too late.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by LJCal on Mar 20, 2020 23:11:32 GMT 1, Please stop peddlling fake news and conspiracy theories, this is all speculation and further disinformation. Mods can we do something about this guy?
You sure seem to really hate on anyone that has an idea that’s not yours. Why don’t you just be quiet or float ur own ideas vs complaining all the time. That would be REALLY nice. Or do u only troll when someone has thoughts to discuss that u don’t align with?
If you don’t want to discuss how you think the virus started, then dont. But get outta here w/ ur whining. It’s very childish of you.
The FACT is, my theory holds as much weight as any out there. And the actions by the chinese to either disappear or ban those looking into those who exposed the virus in the beginning should Have US ALL CONCERNED. Or in ur bubble do u not realize this?
So go back to ur rabbit hole if YOU lack the ability to think outside the box instead whining that I have an idea that you don’t agree with. Kind of super petty brah.
Ur way of thinking is what causes racism, hatred and wars. Sooo, don’t go away mad, JUST GO AWAY! ✌🏻
Moderators, please contact me by DM if you also support thoughtlessness, lack of imagination and the inability to think on ur own outside the box on ur forums like this guy. Thanks!
If not, I’ll take ur lack of response as u support people to have their own thoughts, opinions and ideas like adults.
Youre either a paranoid, tin foil hat wearing yank that is clearly smoking too much weed and watching too many Hollywood movies. That or you’re a bot or troll account. Either way can you kindly fuck off, ta

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Mar 21, 2020 0:12:55 GMT 1, I think they are referring to hydroxychloroquin. It's an anti malaria drug that acts as an anti inflammatory and will reduce lung inflammation. And the fuss about anti flammatory drugs effecting and not working is out the window now? mad rush on ibuprofen then
Ibuprofen and hydroxychloroquin work in different ways. Had too much good belgian beer to elaborate too much. Hydroxychloroquin prevents tissue damage whereas ibuprofen suppresses the immune system, hence the negative press, however it can be the immune systems response that damages the Lungs. The ibuprofen however fights the infection.
I need another de Struise

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by .dappy on Mar 21, 2020 0:18:28 GMT 1, No, I honestly didn't. A lot of what you write is very Trumpy So who is your guy for the next American boss man? We have no good choices. It’s sad. If u REALLY want to know I’m an independent, somewhat of a libertarian and a constitutionalist. What does that mean? I despise politicians and feel we don’t need nearly as many. People are soo hell bent on all sides of the aisle trying to take away each others rights it leaves us all w/ a shell of what freedom once was. It’s silly. When our country was founded, it had a constitution. that was built on nipping the machine that big govt had become, in the bud, to try to stop it from repeating, to the best of their ability, an environment for future generations to come, where that could happen. It wasn’t perfect, we had racism and feminism that were issues. But, we also were on the forefront of giving women and those of other views equal rights and we still need to build on that. But right now, repubs and Dems pretty much just write laws taking away rights as jabs at each other, f**kingus all over. I don’t support that. So who is ur man? Biden the forgetful or trump the narcissist? 🤦🏼♂️ If anything, the 1% of Britain fucked America up when they brought slaves here. And through much internal battle, we nipped that issue in the bud too. For my Irish and Scot brothers out there that have FORGOTTEN history. England first banned slaves of their own people, predominantly my ancestors in those countries. As they were thought of as lesser men. When that was banned they had to outsource. All slavery was banned eventually and the East Indian trade company worked outside those laws to buy and steal slaves from Africa. East Indian trade company of course being championed by the British 1 percenters. 😉 And for those who hate American gun culture. It was put in place in case we needed to revolt against the machine and have Boston tea party 2.0. ... Jeeezzz ... do you really believe what you write about ... clean the swamp 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 ... do you talk and act as you write ... oh dear!
... and this is hilarious:
'It wasn’t perfect, we had racism and feminism that were issues. But, we also were on the forefront of giving women and those of other views equal rights and we still need to build on that.'
... do you forget the bigotry against black people and women, especially in the southern states in the 50"s, 60's and 70's ... even today ...

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Lroy on Mar 21, 2020 0:26:26 GMT 1, I’m really surprised how this forum can still talk, post or exchange about art ! There will be a “before and after” Coronavirus, even on art effect and/or market. In these times of confinement, thinking about Italy and all this misery, tragedy all around the world ( migrants, poor people, disease etc ),I wonder how could art resist ?! We need art of course, but to have the heart with , and I am sorry, I’m confined as a lot of French ( and worldwide ) people too, and I can answer to Banksy GDP question: (why ) does art matter? No. Dead times Bro, with an attitude like that why get out of bed in the morning? Art matters precisely because of these things, it brings a little bit of magic to a tragic world otherwise what is the point of life other than to suffer.
It’s a bit harsh what you are saying ! I’m gong out bed because I like/want to live ! About what are you talking just now ? Nothing, no art, no exhibition, no art in the streets, nothing, no prints and no shipping until months so.. Did you see a new Banksy ? No New Invader is postponed etc etc .. Art must be alive , not this dead thing,, If you were living in our European countries you should understand I guess.. Art matters ? fot people with money and in safe countries I won’t read an old dusty book with art in the streets. Art list live !

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 21, 2020 0:31:31 GMT 1, If this lasts long term a lot of other social issues will occur , mental health will see a large increase in society , social isolation , some adults and especially children have meltdowns if no internet , lack social skills dependent too much on the virtual world Civil disorder , racism could flare up..people that are dependent on home intervention for children or adults with disabilities ,adhd, autism ,dementia , the carers that depend on this support if not made because of isolation will suffer , this group plays a large part easing the strain on the NHS . Homeless people that depend on interaction of the general public for as little as simple 5 min conversation will effect their mental well being ,

I agree, we are going to see a huge incline in mental health issues over this. We are being drip fed information and government actions every day, as it's a lot to take in for most people. Even in small doses, the majority of people find it difficult to comprehend, let alone the people with anxiety or depression. Even to some of the most stable amongst us, it's very hard to get your head around the changes that are happening to us and our everyday life. That is why in times like this, we don't need scary propaganda or conspiracies. If you like all that, that's great, but I'm not sure we need it promoted here. Everyone is in for a long rough ride, Let's try and make this place an escapism from thes**t thrown about and bring a bit more positivity.

Correct in all you say and almost the same statement I made two weeks ago general population are too use to being in cotton wool, this is the problem why most are not following advice in the uk as although given advice by the government and scientists many so not believe what is happening until they see things happening , as the government is restricting news and limiting facts to stop civil disturbance by mass panic many assume all is normal and fine as shown by the news of people still out when interviewed with their answers , I'm fine ?plus the facts the government released it does not effect the younger generation , they are the groups still out in public potentially spreading it more even if not in the higher fatality groups they are selfish and not thinking of others. also shows human nature around the world how people are acting in videos as you and I may follow advice others do not , I limited self isolated with my family two weeks ago and others thought was over kill, this from tracking news around the world and diferent countries government research sites now uk release the same info a few have taken the advice .ifs great ignoring and playing happy but if it hits home will be a greater impact on mental well being by ignoring what is actually happening

if so offended some people should self isolate constantly and disconnect from the internet .

With art I can generally SEE the content before I form a view. You're essentially asking people to click on links without any indication as to what they may see.
For all I know, I could be about to view a video of someone getting their head blown off by a shotgun. Liveleak has a lot of gratuitous violent content among the more "lighthearted" videos.
A few words to describe the content wouldn't go astray, but that's obviously your call.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Inknart on Mar 21, 2020 2:07:20 GMT 1, Any bets on a national lockdown in America in a month ? Have to specify what a lockdown really consists of...
I'm in CA and we're on "Lockdown" however you can still drive and do whatever you want, it's not enforced.
Bets on nationalized Martial Law Lockdown? My bet is at 2 weeks from now tops, until national guard and army are patrolling.
This can really only go on for 3 months until economies damage becomes drastic.
I work in an industry that is considered an "Essential Service." I feel extremely fortunate to still be working everyday.
I, like many others actually would like a government enforced lockdown for 2 solid weeks. Lets get this done and move on together. We need to be united as countries, and even as a global team right now. Lets get this right, flatten the curve and provide our hospitals and medical fields some slack to pull us through and get us to the end goal...

A full lock down should be 4 weeks and it's long overdue. We won't get to martial law, but we could shut down airports and state borders for that time. Every person that doesn't take this seriously prolongs this for everyone else.
Its mad that people don’t instinctively think how they can best help their local community (i.e. by staying home as much as possible).
Even if there are 10-15% jerks who wont stay home, hopefully with everyone else being responsible citizens it’ll be enough to reduce the spread.
They should create an online map like the sex offenders register where you can see the homes of people in your area who are bad citizens and going out without good reason. If they wont isolate themselves we should have access to the relevant data so as to protect ourselves.
Im fortunate enough to be able to work remotely, but ive been at home for two weeks already (UK based) to give space to the essential people who have to be at work in person.

I've also been home based for the last couple of weeks for the same reasons. Saying that, I had to go to B&Q early this morning for some copper pipe after a plumbing emergency. The car park was fuller than I've ever seen it, and the place was full of elderly people buying soil / plants. I was quite astonished and silently furious.
*insert joke about pushing up daisies*
Yeah, i had to have a word with my folks about their social distancing “procedures”. We’re all basically on STD rules now, right? If you have unprotected breath with someone, you’re breathing the breath of all the people they’ve breathed with before. Needless to say, my metaphors made the conversation more awkward than it needed to be...

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 21, 2020 3:26:10 GMT 1, Any bets on a national lockdown in America in a month ? I have tons of opinions, but in the good faith of not spinning up folks, I’ll leave them be. It's your thoughts ,last time I checked IP address is not in n Korea ? As long as not offensive, sexist ,homophobic or racist ,speak your mind ,different perspectives creates different angles of thought, can't go through life mute ,some of the same questions here during discussions here are some times bought up by journalists on pms question time

With the older generation some times they are more with terms that they are near end of life and have come to an acceptance , study most news reports when reporting of a family about isolation and covid 19 ,the child is mostly emotional and worried about their older family member potentially passing whereas the older person is calm and collected with their thoughts , older generation have more time in life to come with terms that death is inevitable where as when younger you do not really think of death and expect to live to an old age although you could die from an accident ,illness or be killed at any time in life.hence is hard to implement social isolation on advice only younger generations 16-25 still out in large groups , not taking advice seriously ,rarely follow the news or any advice in general , the government has said low rate of infection so many assume they are immune to infections the older generation 70+ some suffer isolation as no family so want to be out in public, others do not care about the virus as at end of their life and sad to say some in old age want to pass. have criminals and drug addicts that need to be out in public to make their money from crime ,mental health individuals not picked up by the system ,then the groups of any age that do not take this pandemic seriously so hard to control and advise with only sensible people following advice .
