Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by pellets on Mar 21, 2020 20:56:21 GMT 1, Quite alarming rate of growth in USA. How does our state-side contingent feel things are being handled there?

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mojo on Mar 21, 2020 21:00:22 GMT 1, I think the biggest problem is the lack of testing -it's given people a false sense of security. Many thousands of people are walking around with this virus totally oblivious that they're potentially spreading it. Yeah, and also the opposite side, where key workers are locked away in isolation for days when they potentially only have about a 5% chance of having it. Exactly. You can get a test, it cost £400 on Harley Street that's why we are only hearing about the rich having the virus. The fact the NHS staff aren't being tested will and should be deemed criminal in the future.(IMO).

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Terry Fuckwitt on Mar 21, 2020 21:04:30 GMT 1, Yeah, and also the opposite side, where key workers are locked away in isolation for days when they potentially only have about a 5% chance of having it. Friend of mine is an intensive care nurse. She developed a dry cough early this week and was immediately sent home. Not tested for covid-19, just sent straight home. She’s now back at work tonight having suffered no more than a cough, and feeling depressingly guilty for not being there to help. Tests are available for purchase. Fücking madness.
It's stupid and they shouldn't be sold privately. I think I heard about £300 to buy, yet the cost of a nurse being off for days is priceless. Saw on the news earlier about 3 football players in a team tested positive, so fuckin what! Nobody is going to care if these 3 are self isolated for a week. But at the moment that could be costing 3-6 weeks of a key worker. As you say, fuckin madness!

Just to add as well, if these 3 football players tested positive, then I expect every other player or family member in that team were also tested. I'm guessing, but maybe 40 tests wasted😤

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 21, 2020 21:11:57 GMT 1, 1400 people die on average in the uk , could they not test all deaths to get a picture ?
Currently restricted testing keeps panic away from the public ,if higher numbers were shown , it would show how how infectious and what a real problem this is

So the government is lying to us because they need people to act but they dont want them to have the actual facts cos then people would understand how serious it is and how urgently they need to follow social distancing?
Or is it ALL governments are lying to us? They cant coordinate a united front to tackle the virus but they can unite over how to lie to everyone on earth?
Would it not be more reasonable to think that the government is telling us what they know with the understanding that the method of testing (i.e. who and when) is skewing the data and blurring the image because asymptomatic people arent being teated?

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mojo on Mar 21, 2020 21:27:07 GMT 1, That was my initial thought.Theatre companies were well pissed with Boris for those reasons of not being able to claim on insurance. It looks now though that hardly any of the hospitality and leisure industries are covered by their insurance even with the government shut down. Sorry, I missed out the word ‘hopefully’ from my last sentence. My insurers are currently disputing any claim on the basis that Covid-19 is not specifically named on my policy. How could it be specifically named on a policy taken out last April when it was only discovered a couple of months ago you fücking melts?! The insurance billionaire and leader of the Leave EU hate campaign will be calling the shots on that decision, along with the many other disaster capitalists that appear to be running the country, all gleefully rubbing their disgusting grubby thieving hands together at the prospect of how much £'s they're gonna make. What a vile way to conduct their lives, living off the back of other peoples misery.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by irl1 on Mar 21, 2020 21:55:09 GMT 1, 1400 people die on average in the uk , could they not test all deaths to get a picture ? Currently restricted testing keeps panic away from the public ,if higher numbers were shown , it would show how how infectious and what a real problem this is 800 died in Italy yesterday alone.
G.B need to do something "very very fast" to keep people away from each other or large numbers of old people will die in the big cities.
People need to stay away from each other full stop.
Don't mix its hard to do but its a must to stay alive
This is not a movie this virus kills end of story

Im no longer prepared to block this forum up replying to your nonsense. Seriously have a word with yourself cause nobody else is going to want to. My parents would likely call you the same and I've rarely ever heard my dear mum swear.

Currently restricted testing keeps panic away from the public ,if higher numbers were shown , it would show how how infectious and what a real problem this is So the government is lying to us because they need people to act but they dont want them to have the actual facts cos then people would understand how serious it is and how urgently they need to follow social distancing? Or is it ALL governments are lying to us? They cant coordinate a united front to tackle the virus but they can unite over how to lie to everyone on earth? Would it not be more reasonable to think that the government is telling us what they know with the understanding that the method of testing (i.e. who and when) is skewing the data and blurring the image because asymptomatic people arent being teated? I would not doubt head of states ,always known to be factual and truths to be told Iraqi war weapons of mass destruction , bill Clinton , Nixon , we can undoubtedly, unreservedly trust everything we are told
www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP90-00965R000504240002-8.pdf
if no cure and long term before a vaccine found and facts presented you were most likely to die if infected , a few people may cause civil disturbance ,it is in the best interest of governments to play down this as much as possible . they are still getting to understand the virus and many unknowns still exist
