Every day we leave it, numbers are going to rocket. I hope laws are enforced with immediate effect and any fucker breaching a lockdown needs a hard slapping.

Agreed.
Hope it's true.
Yes, it's good to have academics coming up with their stats and the like ,but the majority of medical academics I know live on another planet most of the time. I think its a good idea to let this thing go though the healthy population, will make it's return more gentle, but there are far too many unhealthy and old not taking any notice.
And as for the supermarkets letting the NHS staff and the old/vulnerable in at the same time...... Eeeerr..

It's wiping out a lot of people that have underlying health issues they did not know about ! how many people find they have cancer at the last minute and have 1-2 months to live , same with leukaemia , 21 year football coach died the other day and didn't know he had it ..may be this pandemic,of will prompt a few to have regular health checks ..depending on the numbers and age groups involved may be beneficial To have health checks on the NHS ,to save strain if this ever occurs again , i am sure those that know they have existing health issues isolated before government advice

My wife is the only one that goes in the supermarket as she is 16 years younger than me and never smoked.
Most shops have new screens up at the counters and tape marked on floors to try stop people getting too close to each other

Cornwall has 15 ICU beds and a single capable hospital serving the entire county, an elderly population, and yet some holiday parks are still open and promoting themselves as a great place to self-isolate. Itโs utter madness.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by That Print Guy on Mar 22, 2020 0:17:48 GMT 1, The more tests that are done, the higher the number will be. If the number continues to rise in 10 days, we have a major issue. You already have a major issue. 100%
And people are still not taking it seriously.

I've tried to steer clear of anything but essential contact for the last 10 days, just so I know I'm safe looking after the old dears. Bit shocked when filling up the car the other day at a brand new bp garage that didn't have those disposable gloves. I had to get a pair of gloves out the boot of my car. I expect hundreds of people would have touched that nozzle(ooh that's weird typing that). You can't be over cautious now.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by pellets on Mar 22, 2020 0:23:33 GMT 1, Just read and FT article about ventilators. Seems a key issue is licensing and liability. At what point do we need to get to before we just start Mad Max/MacGyver-ing these things just to give critical people a glimmer of hope for survival.
If offered an untested ventilator vs slowly suffocating in a hallway, i know what i would choose.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 22, 2020 1:06:17 GMT 1, Anyone seen video on Facebook , Slough Tesco one of the largest in uk , food shelves all bare The government advice to stop panic buying and social distancing is not working Italian type policing is needed before gets out of control Top crime in London of rolex muggings will be replaced by grocery bag muggings. If things crash like Italy people will mostly be concerned for themselves , stockpiling to save going out in public even if you are allowed , when the situation gets worse , the worse place to be will be supermarkets People stuck at home with infections , not knowing then on ,mass shopping and scrambling over each other to grab items ๐๐ Even alcohol sections selling out

I think the bare shelves are a greater london thing. Weโre pretty bare but still have most stuff here in Reading. But as you go west to Wales theres more available. Ive heard people in Edinburgh saying shops are mostly fine there too.
Any Welsh or Scots able to confirm what im saying? Some items fully sold out but on the whole theres enough to provide sustenance.
