Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Deleted on Mar 22, 2020 20:13:03 GMT 1, Well stupid... ask all the Chinese who got while waiting at hospitals for a test. Many articles reported this. They have set up drive thrus in many other state which is the right thing to do. Or unless you feel really ill you shouldnโt be going to the hospital. New York needs to figure another way to get people tested or many will get it waiting in line with one person who has it.ย
I have no idea if this is aimed at me or not but for the record I agree that people shouldnโt be attending doctors or hospitals who are showing symptoms of this virus unless they are in need of immediate medical attention.
I was responding to a comment which suggested doctors and hospitals were a terrible idea in general. Iโm sure weโd all love to have a MRI machine or X-ray machine delivered to our house by a personalised team of doctors everytime we break a bone or have a seizure but as this isnโt feasible what would we do or where would we go in these instances without some form of medical centre?

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Wearology on Mar 22, 2020 20:42:06 GMT 1, I would like to give our Urban Art Community an update from the United States (30,000 Cases / 384 Deaths) I live in New York State (15,168 Cases) in a county called Rockland (455 Cases) and can see Westchester County, New York (1,900 Cases) from my window. People should be home self quarantining and avoiding contact with any people who they don't live with, but they are definitely not following the optional non enforced stay at home edict that was implemented by the authorities. I went for a drive today and saw people walking, bike riding, shopping and going about their day like nothing is wrong. Everything seems calm now because most people have food to eat and a place to live and are not feeling the stress over not being able to pay their bills - over the next few weeks is when the real social experiment begins as it is estimated that 3 million Americans have lost their jobs over the past 10 days. I am concerned that once people start going hungry and can't provide for themselves and their families what the consequences in society will become.

What is the Government doing to support the newly unemployed?

What is the Government doing to support the newly unemployed? They are negotiating a bail out bill for the past few days that the experts estimate will be between 1 - 3 Trillion Dollars. Most people are concerned that it will mostly benefit large corporations like the Airline & Cruise Industry and the Small Business Owners and workers will be left out. The ironic part is that the Cruise Industry all fly international flags to avoid US Taxes when in operation.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Deleted on Mar 22, 2020 21:34:45 GMT 1,
Just wrong, very wrong
I would really like to know why we can not or will not test the NHS staff?
Can we not fly our empty planes and get/ buy supplies of whatever it is we need for the people on the front line?
As always i know so little of these things.
if my family worked for the NHS I would be so proud, yet so very very scared for them

That clip you posted from the Andrew Marr interview was telling. Government saying all essential supplies for NHS workers are being sent straight away, when they clearly are not. I wouldn't hate on this landlord, as everyone has different fears and anxieties, but I hope this will be a one off๐ข news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-nhs-worker-evicted-from-his-home-over-landladys-fears-11961957

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by astarti on Mar 22, 2020 22:06:36 GMT 1, And something to cheers us up a bit
Trump, Boris, the Pope, Merkel and a 10-year-old student are on a plane that is about to crash. There are only 4 parachutes. Trump grabs the first saying: "I m the smartest man in the world and I have to save the planet from the new virus" . Boris gets the second: "I have to save Britain because I am too late and everyone will die". The Pope follows since he has so many souls to take care of.
Then Merkel (who suffers from the virus, hopefully she will overcome this) tells the 10-year-old student. "You should get the last parachute, I've lived for so many years, you're the future". "Don't worry" answers the student. "We have two parachutes. The smartest man in the world grabbed my school bag".

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by pellets on Mar 23, 2020 0:47:50 GMT 1, Russia and North Korea are lying for sure, while Russiaโs coronavirus numbers are low now all of a sudden the have a crazy break out of pneumonia... (https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2020/03/21/russian-pneumonia-cases-raise-doubts-about-official-coronavirus-numbers/amp/) New York City doesnโt have drive tru testing so you are seeing hundreds of people standing close together waiting in lines at clinics and hospitals to get tested. This is how in China many people got the virus by going to hospitals to get tested where someone in the crowd had it and gave it to everyone else. The testing places might be even spreading it in nyc. New York just got updated again...22,000.
These numbers have now been revised. There may have been some double counting in the initial data.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by embee on Mar 23, 2020 1:08:22 GMT 1, It will happen. With every step there's been a few days of "please do this" and then "alright now you have to". Like last week, "Our new advice is that you should stop going to pubs and restaurants and the theatre" on Wednesday, then "Alright, now we're closing them" on Friday.
Watching Boris again today, he just can't seem to land the key sentences. He has no gravitas. All the fluff and bluster is eternally there to deliberately confuse things, and suddenly can't seem to be removed when he absolutely needs to be completely clear with the message. "You must stay inside. And please stay 2 metres apart as you stroll around in all of our lovely sunny parks."
Even David Cameron would have been able to successfully bring the hammer down. Gordon Brown would have had us all scared shitless a month ago, probably going too far and triggering a serious widespread national mental health crisis. Nobody would have taken Theresa May's words seriously, but she would have been more severe and broadly in line with the EU countries timing in practical steps taken (restrictions and shutdowns).
Those daily pressers with Boris seem to mostly be confused fluff, with the real, serious message coming the next day in background briefs to journalists. Watch tomorrow - there'll be a few stories there that are far heavier in their tone and detail, coming from 'Downing Street sources', while he just can't seem to just do it at the podium himself.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Terry Fuckwitt on Mar 23, 2020 1:43:55 GMT 1, Fuckwits will probably survive and pass it on to those most vulnerable. It's at times like this when you realise how selfish people can truly be.
Media needs to stop publishing the numbers for positive tests, these numbers mean nothing now. Maybe just publish number of deaths now and predictive numbers of deaths in 6 weeks from those already infected. This should be enough to shock them.

Boris just needs to grow a pair and ban people from the streets. If you saw the videos coming out from China they were literally welding people in their homes. Obviously that isn't going to happen here but banning people is a start. With all the policing cuts from the last decade they are struggling with numbers for a nationwide policing policy fireservice is suffering with cuts too and members are getting infected , both these services have to work close with the public , with no choice with rescues / detaining people so highly likely mass infections are likely
using the army would weaken national defences and any reactional Force would be compromised
all these services work in units , one infection would wipe out the whole unit .
there are a lot of videos from china with people just dropping down dead in the streets, if were so bad with respiratory symptoms as shown on news , these people would not be walking around on the streets ?
two years quoted until a vaccine is too long .
elderly that depend on home visits by carers , who is going to support them some elderly are isolated socially ,immobile and depend on home grocery deliveries , all online deliveries are booked for next two weeks , elderly do not bulk shop and often under shop , when they run out ,who helps? a lot are not picked up by the social care system or know how to access help , even other me,beds of society are under the radar and need help

Boris just needs to grow a pair and ban people from the streets. If you saw the videos coming out from China they were literally welding people in their homes. Obviously that isn't going to happen here but banning people is a start. With all the policing cuts from the last decade they are struggling with numbers for a nationwide policing policy fireservice is suffering with cuts too and members are getting infected , both these services have to work close with the public , with no choice with rescues / detaining people so highly likely mass infections are likely using the army would weaken national defences and any reactional Force would be compromised all these services work in units , one infection would wipe out the whole unit . there are a lot of videos from china with people just dropping down dead in the streets, if were so bad with respiratory symptoms as shown on news , these people would not be walking around on the streets ? two years quoted until a vaccine is too long . elderly that depend on home visits by carers , who is going to support them some elderly are isolated socially ,immobile and depend on home grocery deliveries , all online deliveries are booked for next two weeks , elderly do not bulk shop and often under shop , when they run out ,who helps? a lot are not picked up by the social care system or know how to access help , even other me,beds of society are under the radar and need help www.theguardian.com/film/2011/oct/09/joyce-vincent-death-mystery-documentary
