Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 20, 2020 14:21:25 GMT 1, Eventually there will be a leak from some government minister with the exact knowledge the government knows about the virus that part is being with held from the general public It would be in best interest of all parties to be fully transparent with all information rather than losing the publicโs support from any leaks which Always occur in scenarios as these .
news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-30-000-extra-mortuary-spaces-created-for-covid-19-victims-11975815
As soon as restrictions lifted without any cures will be two months before a new wave of infections reappear.
The government will not give guidance for public ppe as will limit further the resources available to the governments purchasing departments of ppe , but any soft restrictions should recommend ppe for all of the general public
With many asymptomatic , by wearing ppe they would limit their spread of infections to others ,by containing their coughs sneezes . I was about to go to a supermarket yesterday the queue was virtually lining up to each otherโs back , social distancing of 2m non existent and Were occasional coughing in the queue

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by brycepen on Apr 20, 2020 15:21:40 GMT 1, With the increasing preciousness of PPE I do wonder what kind of tactics are being employed to procure it. What are the chaps from Hereford up to at the moment?
Is there any reason the UK hasnโt just started sterilizing PPE? The US has started that after a nonprofit company developed machines which will allow for the sterilization and reuse of hundreds of thousands of N95 masks a day. And I believe they can be sterilized up to 100 times before they have to be tossed.
Forcing healthcare workers to treat covid patients without PPE is almost akin to sending troops to war without weapons. Then again, there are a lot of issues with this pandemic that are analogous to war, particularly the politics of it all. Itโs weird to see the governmentโs treatment of a global health crisis become eerily similar to the politics of war.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by brycepen on Apr 20, 2020 15:29:48 GMT 1, Side note about ppe: since Iโm sure there are a lot of artists here who work with spray paint, power tools, and the like, you should check your supplies to see if you have any surplus of face masks (assuming you use them when you should be).
I found 2 packs of face masks in my tool shed; I didnโt realize the masks that I buy at the the hardware store are apparently these highly coveted N95 masks. I was able to give some to my elderly parents and their senior citizen friends, which was nice.
Though I doubt any artists have enough masks lying around to help frontline healthcare workers, it would be nice to see them donate what they have to the general public. Itโs not like they need a new mask everytime they take out the spray paint.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 20, 2020 18:59:53 GMT 1, It's a bit of a selfish stance. There are many who can't be vaccinated, like the young or immunosuppressed, and they would be more at risk if people refuse.
Once mass vaccination can be offered, and this would take a while!!, then those who opt out could see themselves refused entry by some countries, similar to a Yellow fever vaccination today.

Add to those groups you mentioned religious groups with some branches that decline anY medical intervention , Jehovah witnesses , Mormons And then you have cults the world could end up with a strange society

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 20, 2020 22:32:08 GMT 1, www.advisory.com/daily-briefing/2019/12/13/home-deaths
More deaths in general happen in the community than in hospitals By the government using statiscal data of only pre tested individuals that die in hospital It is giving a misleadingly lower figure of death from covid 19 that what is actually occurring Many reports that covid 19 has caused heart attacks and strokes so not to presume all would seek medical intervention just as of with trouble breathing , add to the case more people are not seeking medical help as scared of infections from hospitals so more people are dying from other illnesses that would be preventable with earlier medical intervention, streptococcus is still a problem in wards added to covid 19.
There needs to be a more accurate recording method , which would require more testing

Unfortunately a lot of his supporters believes all in what he says . As a president it should be the case but this president is unique

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Daylight Robber on Apr 21, 2020 10:18:56 GMT 1, This is a very interesting read and backed up with some fairly robust evidence. If true, people should go to prison.
For those of you who won't do Twitter, the claim is that a single account, that can be linked back to the Dept. for Health and Social care, has created at least 128 fake Twitter profiles of imaginary NHS workers (often using the images of real NHS workers in avatars), who have been promoting the case for Herd Immunity, rubbishing claims of shortages of PPE and generally praising the government handling of things.
The team that brought you Brexit are now trying to manipulate you into accepting unnecessary deaths.

The government has clearly made mistakes from the outset , and with no positive information yet to be released ,government public relations spin advisors will create positive news angles to keep the public on board.
With no Full research Gathered on a virus that can spread rapidly and kill multiples with no vaccine developed for up to two years when usually development takes 5-10 years for the end product of These vaccines to be developed an easy calming measure to ease the public fears and buy time is to release a state statement that herd immunity will save the population
The virus keeps on being compared to flu , statements released in the beginning that it is seasonal and will die down by summer to release fears , the real delay was to stall isolations around the school holidays And give time to prepare hospitals as know known nothing was set up to handle this situation and all planning documents and ppe was not in place as advised ,So most likely stalling time to prepare and less of a hit on businesses if timed isolation around the school holidays as assumed this would be short term in the beginning
No research to confirm once infected you would be immune as portrayed by the government , cases of reinfections have been recorded
From reading all documents it is never the intention to supply any ppe to the mass public but most recent shows can have beneficial impact If was a measure to ease isolations the public would follow advise . Again stalling to advise as the public would create supply issues of stock to the nhs as there is a global shortage .
Once trust is lost and the general public starts questioning reports instead of following guidance then you have have the possibility of social disorder creeping in.
Testing stations have been set up but not even used at 50% capacity , Ppe large figures have been mentioned but not set in place , again calming measures to show the public actions are made but useless as not put in place .
Any misinformation given there will be leaks eventually as this effects all and people are scared and fed up Of misinformation.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 21, 2020 14:47:59 GMT 1, Those dopey posts stating โflu kills more peopleโ arenโt ageing too well...
This did not make sense from the start ,Individual countryโs let alone the Whole world has never Implemented lockdowns because of flu.
Coming to light with how the deaths are Under recorded and in relation to the populations in which testing are carried out the data gives misleading low figures . Which can be easily Used to deceive

And in case you hadnโt noticed, the chart only contains figures up til 10th April, thatโs almost two weeks ago. This one is updated all day

๐ that made me laugh.. wonder if weโll hear the sound of the penny dropping.
Edit: I think we might not be hearing it

A lot more is known behind the scenes but limiting information causes less panic amongst society
Stronger case to limit air travel , and stronger case for all to seek refunds rather than deferring holidays as airlines might go bankrupt
U.K. citizens still stranded 1 month later , if reintroduced flights and A second wave of infections occur will the same scenario of Stranded passengers happen again
