Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 11, 2020 23:01:51 GMT 1, Havenโt been up to speed with the stats but America and New York really not looking good. Stay safe guys. All the stats for all countries in below link updated all day long Hope you stay safe too Last updated: April 11, 2020, 21:36 GMT Coronavirus Cases: 1,771,809 Deaths: 108,340 Recovered: 401,498 www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
No New York isn't good at all.
First 5 days of April saw roughly 1,100 found deceased on the streets/at home. They said this was nearly 8x the norm.
Makes you wonder how this model will multiply out globally.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 11, 2020 23:10:53 GMT 1, Seen it mentioned on here that medical staff are not working due to fear of Covid19 and/or lack of PPE. These people deal with illness and death every day, admittedly not on this scale, but they are much more hardened to it than your average Joe. I'm not saying some won't be concerned, but these people are like soldiers and will feel immense guilt if they leave their fellow combatants on the battlefield. Other than those in a vulnerable group I can't see any medical staff staying off work due to fear and there are many in these vulnerable groups still working. Absent symptomatic staff is another matter, but that's just our poor testing not allowing them back if negative. Government to blame? Turned down opportunities and poor negotiating... Never. Doctors quoted on bbc 1 news today and there is references on medical forums of quotes , dealing with deaths is different to exposing yourself to Potential death With no cures
Which medical forums? Wife nor I have seen nothing to this effect on any forums.
No colleagues/friends off unnecessarily.
Know of care home staff off due to being in vulnerable groups.

Of course the government are to blame
A bit like arming soldiers without guns
I have cousins that are nurses
I will never be as brave and as giving as them

This why I post links but think forum is getting fed up of This All the time The information is there if you can be bothered to look , Just as you have not viewed ? What does that mean ? Do you audit the internet on medical related documents? I like to be factual when stating , speculation is when asking questions
People in the profession are humans as you and i and there is a certain amount of risk people will sacrifice , not all superheroes to go above and beyond as you like to think
All medical officers on pm question time , which some of Have 3 decades of experience have stated they have never come across anything like this or similar in all their experience and the way the virus behaves and many medical staff are understandably worried and scared .
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/16/everyone-is-scared-to-speak-up-nhs-staff-need-covid-19-tests
No one is openly going to discuss colleagues taking time off as of fearS
www.nst.com.my/world/world/2020/04/581620/french-doctor-commits-suicide-after-covid-19-diagnosis
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/coronavirus-latest-italy-doctors-deaths-covid-19-symptoms-death-toll-a9427596.html%3famp
www.irishpost.com/news/nurse-20s-kills-london-hospital-8-covid-19-patients-died-182171
Everyone deals with stress differently and the amount of deaths presented to these hospitalS , this is more than at any time before and the peak has not been met yet ,this is having an effect on even the seasoned consultants

Deaths from covid 19 in the community Ie at home Or care homes are not recorded for statistical reports only deaths recorded and released are deaths in hospitals ,
so the actual numbers released daily could be x times higher

All these will not be released or recorded as covid 19 deaths on daily gov releases through the media

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 12, 2020 1:01:01 GMT 1, Won't be recorded as Covid19 deaths full stop if they're not tested.
There will probably be fewer non covid deaths reported in these times due to patients with Co morbitities succumbing to Covid19.

They are tested In post mortem but not attributed to daily releases by the government , only deaths occurring in hospitals What medical forums have you frequented ?

Post mortem only if coroner requests it. China started diagnosing without testing using chest scans. Closed doctor only forums.

I know what you're posting are facts but i think there is good reason not to widely publicise information on suicide, especially during a crisis, because news of suicides can lead to more suicides.
Not trying to stick my head in the sand, im just not sure this the most helpful thing to disseminate during a stressful time such as this.

I think people need to wake up and see this is a really big issue and the way some people view , interpret what is going on And how it effects them is totally different to someone else .
Some people just rely on the news for information but not everything is reported there A lot is under reported on purpose , a lot more information is held back But the longer this continues all will be slowly released .
Another member was being ignorant when I stated that medical staff were booking sick as of personal fears and Response stated Was soldiers would not leave their fellows in combat ?My response was more geared to him to show what is going on and why medical staff are booking sick out of fear No one likes to think as such and hospitals are the magical cure to this pandemic but it is not and unless the government resolved issues this last defence is slowly crumbling away .
Many soldiers were shot by their own regiment for cowardice during ww1 For going awol , Not cowards but suffering from ptsd from what they had viewed and afraid of death , point is medical staff are human and when faced with death And harrowing scenes the public do not see they are just the same as any other human with fears and emotions , they work with calculated risk to help others , this situation with ppe at the moment is just raising the risk of their own lives which can be preventable

Pal, I'm not the ignorant one. I'm talking to the people on the ground, including senior ICU consultants. Whilst you're busy being a keyboard hero they're out there saving lives, they're not calling off sick. You've obviously not met many doctors.
Yes it's scary and there's raised anxiety but they would be pretty offended if it was thought that "alot" of them weren't there due to fear.

Many soldiers were shot by their own regiment for cowardice during ww1 For going awol , Not cowards but suffering from ptsd from what they had viewed and afraid of death , point is medical staff are human and when faced with death And harrowing scenes the public do not see they are just the same as any other human with fears and emotions , they work with calculated risk to help others , this situation with ppe at the moment is just raising the risk of their own lives which can be preventable news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-nurses-should-refuse-to-work-if-they-arent-given-ppe-new-guidance-says-11972124news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-doctors-heartbreak-at-seeing-covid-19-patients-die-alone-11972105Pal, I'm not the ignorant one.

I work in emergency services pal , hands on with many deceased persons in my field of work , friends are an eclectic group which includes Medical consultants and gps have Had discussions Around what is going on and hands on without being a keyboard warrior or a know it all as you , hence a bit more keen with what is happening Also with vulnerable groups in my family , Iโve stated sources in the public domain and News source of medical staff views , unfortunately it is happening and it is nice to live in A fairyland But reality is different , stated it is happening , not a lot or majority, I guess until you see things on the news anything else is untrue
