Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 11, 2020 14:12:24 GMT 1, Hancock is fast losing support in the medical community. Lack of PPE is resulting in dangerous policy.
The guidelines are that all medical practitioners should only wear PPE if a patient has or is suspected of having Covid19.
So whilst nobody is allowed outside to fart in public, the government is happy for non socially distanced interactions involving the old/vulnerable and their medical assistance. Does the government think all other illnesses have gone away.

I know itโs seems funny and insignificant But a lot of medical staff are reporting sick and not reporting to work as fear of their safety from not having correct ppe Which is not making the main media news channels especially with the reports and statistics of numbers of medical staff dying in Italy And deaths who could blame some , they have families too and their life is precious as others. If this continues and not even at peak yet in the uk , there will be less professionals to deal with the sick not only from covid 19 but any illnesses and create more preventable deaths as those professionals are irreplaceable And the uk have already drawn in dentists and vets to assist in the shortfall in Other areas of medical staff Shortages

Does not make sense , Many do not know they have the virus or show symptoms ? There is no blanket testing of New hospital admissions so any person entering a hospital has a possibility oF contracting or spreading the virus , Other countries and eu member states it is their policy for all hospital staff to wear ppe , masks especially , even cleaners and all contractors on the hospital grounds . It Is simply the uk can not fulfill the orders as of the global demand ,stated some where each worker should have 4-6 masks ,visors per person per Day :night shift which at the moment some have none and most only 1-2 per shift

Meanwhile, they blame the lack of PPE on doctors and nurses โoverusingโ it, blame the public for going to the park, ignore the 1,000+ daily UK death toll but make sure that the top story in the news is which fรผcking film Boris Johnson is watching today.
Without testing everyone and just using herd immunity your basically killing people In A controlled Way as isolation will not stop a pandemic but just slow it to manageable numbers Still giving advice public do not need masks etc The people that have underlying health Issues Hence they have been sent separate advice by the government

You'd rather have a pandemic, killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people worldwide and could yet kill you, or people close to you, than a government who's policies are pretty much being implemented here anyway? I've heard some crazy shit on these boards but this is right up there.

Good thinking to avoid the question. Everyone is sick of facts anyway. Theyโre so boring.
Rather than engaging in actual discussion, the best bet is just to come up with a slogan and keep repeating it, no matter what the question at hand is. Maybe try that.

If everybody had the answer to every question that they were asked, there would be no need to ask a question, because we would all know the answer!

Is there an element of the government doing the best it can with the resources available? I dont imagine theyโve got millions of testing kits sitting in a warehouse that theyre idly choosing not to distribute them. Its more likely tests are being distributed to NHS and other facilities across the country as they become available.
No point in focusing on the fact that there were insufficient PPE stockpiles prior to this event. That wont change the number currently available. The only current option is to be strategic with how the available PPE is deployed until more shipments arrive.
Once this is all over we can do all of the finger pointing and accusing. But for now we should be asking what resources are currently available, where will they provide the most benefit and when are the next shipments of supplies arriving.
Obviously the government is struggling with the situation but i cant think of what additional steps i would take that they currently arent taking. (Very happy to hear peopleโs thoughts on additional steps!). I think its easy to conceptualise supply for a single hospital or even a single city but ensuring the protection of about 70m people simultaneously is beyond my imagination.
(This is not a pro/anti government point, i think weโd be in roughly the same position regardless of who was the leader/party in charge).

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 11, 2020 19:17:40 GMT 1, Agreed, you can only work with what you've got.
But when Hancock tries to scapegoat possible ineptitude by blaming people who are trying to save lives then that rubs.
NHS medical staff haven't got ulterior motives or political agenda. They're not trying to skirt questions for political gain or face saving, they're trying to save your life and they're quite often doing it with less care for their own.
Everyone's willing to work for a good boss, but when that boss blames the employees for mistakes that he should be shouldering, he starts to look like a weak c@#t.

I agree with a lot of this, I think.
However I think the issue is the utter lack of transparency, and the constant insistence that the problem has been fixed.
Rather than just being honest about how things stand, and that they donโt have all the answers (which is ok), they seem to think the way to keep us happy and quiet is to invent new bite size slogans to throw at us. Three strands of this, four pillars of that, five gold rings of something else.
Itโs insulting and shows just how little they value us. Seeing the politicians sharting this out day after day is one thing, but seeing the scientists and chief medics reduced to repeating the catchphrases is very disappointing.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 11, 2020 20:50:45 GMT 1, Without testing everyone and just using herd immunity your basically killing people In A controlled Way as isolation will not stop a pandemic but just slow it to manageable numbers Still giving advice public do not need masks etc The people that have underlying health Issues Hence they have been sent separate advice by the government Is there an element of the government doing the best it can with the resources available?
Transparency by the government what ever party will have the trust of the majority of the population , when blame comes in to shift the issues ,America hijacking supplies was mentioned ? The shortfall is plans were not adhered to and this will take x amount of time to resolve instead of leaving medical staff anxious with worry and potentially booking sick just for the lack of ppe , time scales would be easy to mention , instead of using feel good quotes we will get this done ?! All this data the government is working from has it been released for public viewing ?

The government should issue some official guidelines that ALL police forces need to stringently adhere to and enforce with consistency to all member of the public as at present these guidelines are open to interpretation of the officer present and in some cases have been overly excessive in actions taken
If this continues in deprived areas will cause distrust In communities with the police and potential riots may occur .

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mw on Apr 11, 2020 22:34:01 GMT 1, Seen it mentioned on here that medical staff are not working due to fear of Covid19 and/or lack of PPE.
These people deal with illness and death every day, admittedly not on this scale, but they are much more hardened to it than your average Joe.
I'm not saying some won't be concerned, but these people are like soldiers and will feel immense guilt if they leave their fellow combatants on the battlefield.
Other than those in a vulnerable group I can't see any medical staff staying off work due to fear and there are many in these vulnerable groups still working.
Absent symptomatic staff is another matter, but that's just our poor testing not allowing them back if negative. Government to blame? Turned down opportunities and poor negotiating... Never.

Doctors quoted on bbc 1 news today and there are references on medical forums of quotes , dealing with deaths is different to exposing yourself to Potential death With no cures
